I need help with my white kitchen

Hi, We just had our kitchen cabinets painted white put a peel and stick glass tile frosted matte backsplash which gives off a gray tinge had no choice, beautiful white marble countertop including the island we did not change the floor it's beige Stone has heat underneath it my paint it was supposed to paint my walls white he revealed to me that he put in a drop of Grey to offset the stock white kitchen it looks like it has a glow to it which I'm not happy with I have a dark wood table that I'm not sure we are keeping, what may be painting the chairs and the bottom of the table White I have a white ceiling with high hats I'd like to put it in some crystal chandeliers if possible .what can I do to make this kitchen pretty? I also have stainless steel appliances. please help me , Thank you!

Change the light fixture over the island to something with a lot of personality. Add a wood dough bowl to your island with red apples, or lemons, or artichokes. Some color. Change window treatment and/or add black trim. Make the painter repaint what you want since he or she made a unilateral decision without your approval. Whites are very tricky which many a homeowner has found out with the craze to so called white kitchens.

In the absence of pictures... Insecticidal Soap treatment until you figure out what you have. You can buy it but if you have dish washing "soap" (not detergent or liquid) you can make your own. Mix one or two TBS soap to one quart of water and spray the plant and bugs daily. It should keep them at bay until you figure out what they are. Bill

This is one of those situations where you just have to go to the store and pick out a dozen or so potential white paint chips and bring them home to see what they look like in your space. Lighting is so different and there are so many different whites that matching white cabinets has to be done on site. Stick up the paint chips here and there to see how they look. Toss the "no way"s. When you get down to just a couple you might even want to buy sample cans and preview them larger before you decide. If I were you, I'd consider a complimentary color that isn't a direct match for your cabinets. What color do you have in adjacent rooms? How would that look in the kitchen? How about a white that tends towards green or blue or yellow or beige? As long as you're at the paint store, bring home lots of color possibilities and see what tickles your fancy. Sometimes the most unexpected color will just jump off the wall and say, "choose me!"

Your cabinets are lovely, must you paint them? If you must, I agree with choosing something else first, such as the granite. If you're doing your backsplash too, perhaps go tile shopping. If you fall in love with something, it will help narrow down your paint choices. Easier to do it that way as paint choices are much larger than granite/ tile choices.

As much as I love dark stains, painting the cabinets may be the way to go. White, Grey, Blues are what is "in" right now but they're still nice neutral colors. My issue with this kitchen is what appear to be 30" wall cabinets and larger than life ceiling height in comparison. it makes the space seem short. lighter cabinets and maybe a darker wall color will close this gap. A horizontal backsplash will also help visually make the space longer, making it appear bigger.

You can add additional personality with a more interesting window treatment. Decide on lighting change then style the window treatment.

Better lighting is needed. I would have him change the wall paint on his dime, since he chose to change what you specified. Its not right the way it is. You badly need to add some color in there. The backsplash looks fine. I am not fond of the all white kitchens, since to me they are a bit boring, but, you can add some color and personality with accessories.
