OT: Did we skip November and December?
Comments (40)You know, it's funny...the weather guy actually mentioned that we'd gone from normal October weather/temps directly to normal January weather/temps and completely skipped November and December! lol. I don't know, but I could swear this year is closer to what we used to get when I was a kid. I can remember snow almost touching the power lines because we used to get so much and nowhere for the road crews to put it so they just kept cutting the tops back further and further, and the hunters complaining they had to wade through waist deep snow to track the deer on Thanksgiving day, and sledding down mountains of snow! I had to ask my step-mom if I was just imagining we used to get that much and she said I wasn't - that we really did used to get it as tall as the lines. Now that I'm old, less snow seems like a much better idea. I'll just have to keep chanting - "It's protecting my plants and ws jugs, it's protecting my plants and ws jugs. Really, it is!" lol....See MoreYep, we can safely say it is Spring

Comments (6)Probley,unusual nature of this deck, worst case scenario, more arsenic than allowed-over treated wood, much more than reqular treated wood, Burning cca lumber for heat Ghessssssssssssss give me a break. The warning not to burn that lumber at all not to mention in a wood stove was all over the old cca sticker. It looks like the treater made a big mistake, with the given a lot of folks jumped on the lets get some money wagon>>maney people became ill while Looking at our deckThe green mafia tried evey angle they could to boot cca finaly the Co just said what the Hell we dont care how we treat it lets go with acq, bost the price and require ss fasteners and copper flashing make more $,lower the standards win win. No place did this complaint show up in all the leagal crap that went on back then. In fact a study showed a 9 year old would have to eat a teaspoon of dirt right next to a.40 cca post 3 times a day to get close to the same risk as drinking 3 glasses of water a day. So say half of that story is true,or all of it,that same mistake made with acq,the green mafia product we have to work with now, pools of toxic copper would kill not injure. CCA is still made and used in Com projects and any project close to water because water life from fish to frogs can handle Arsenis but die on the spot from copper. Dont even get me started on this. Comments (4)Don't see any purpose in trying to get it out. It obviously hasn't affected the structural integrity of your slab (assuming it is slab on grade construction). I'd cut or grind down the hinges at least an inch below floor level and fill the hole with concrete. If you really want to make sure you don't have any problems with settling or movement, if you can, drill sideways into the surrounding slab (through the top part of the safe?) in 2-3 places and epoxy pieces of rebar into the holes (they sell epoxy in round cylinders for this purpose at HD) sticking out into the opening. Then fill with concrete, the rebar will serve to tie the patch to the surrounding slab....See Moreamylou321
