Bart, CB is Coryneum Blight. It is not often a bad disease in the east but I got a very bad case of it from a tree I purchased out of a California nursery. It is nearly gone now, but not quite. I would ignore that line. Well, in general its not a bad idea to use dormant copper every now and then on stone fruit due to its good activity on both CB and bacterial spot. Copper can build up in the soil over many years so on the other hand L/S should be used most of the time. L/S is indeed lime sulphur and any good garden center should have it pre-mixed. It is possible to brew your own but for small amounts it is cheap enough to buy the pre-mixed version. Scott

Given that I'm in a climate zone where these things do well, I'm probably not the best person to give advice. But I can endorse the idea of Chilean guava in a pot. Mine was permanently outdoors of course, but it flowered and fruited fine for several years before I was able to plant it in the garden. The flowering is late enough that it won't be troubled by being indoors etc until the frosts have passed, and it doesn't require a long season to fruit. I don't know what level of frost it will tolerate - certainly some, but the places it grows best are cool and windy, so not frosty. There is also at least one feijoa variety that can be grown and fruited in a pot (the self-fertile Unique), but it is probably still too big to be moved inside, unlike the Chilean guava which is small. I don't have the space for kiwifruit or the climate for pomegranate (not hot enough in summer), so I can't help with those.

Martin, it looks like you are inland a bit, this plant does not fruit well in a hot climate. In many U.S. locations, it is intended as a flowering shrub only. Try Murky's advice or try to determine if there are fruiting plants near you, this will tell you if it is possible to get fruit in your area. Adequate water during and the weeks after bloom can be critical.

Pitching in my experience so far. This is from the perspective of a grower in a much colder climate that most posting here, zone 5 in New York, so my options are much more limited. Adding Haskap (Borealis and Tundra). I don't make jams or process, only fresh eat. 5f Mulberry (Illinois everbearing) 5f Black Currant (warning: an acquired taste) 4f Serviceberry (Hard to beat the birds to these) 3f Haskap (Hard to beat the birds to these) 3f Gooseberry (so far, still young plants though) Ordered PawPaw trees for spring of 2014, will be a several years of good luck before I can report on those though.
