We've been lucky here for a good many years, knock on wood, but you never know. These storms have affected a large swath of the country. I never owned a boat but I would think insurance would cover storm damage, that's probably the top reason for losses that there is. Oh well, they are probably rich and will get a new one no problem. Not to be ignorant but if you can afford those you probably have several homes in different countries etc. If Forrest gump is any clue to how Alabama really is, it looks really nice there, all the southern Gulf coast is beautiful, there is just the storms that spoil it from being perfect. I've never seen Tennessee yet. Well, I hope for the best to everybody.

Sorry for your mess, Greta, but am glad you are safe. Hope all in Andrea's path stay safe, including you and Laura1 in Tampa. In Cape Coral we are at the bottom edge of the storm. Lots of rain, wind gusts to about 45, and a couple of tornadoes in the area. There are whitecaps on the lake out back. Some streets are flooded, but nothing too bad this time in my area. Take care!

Just heard about it earlier today. I thought tornado season was over. Hope everyone is ok. We'll keep you guys in our prayers. Tim

Littlemonkeys, my 12-year-old son was at camp on an island off the coast of Maine when Hurricane Bob hit. (This was 20+ years ago.) I called the camp, seriously worried, and was told in a strong Maine accent, "We don't worry about hurricanes he-ya." LOL
