Can you tell me about your all inclusive family vacation?
Comments (17)Corgimum, the service was fantastic! Unfortunately husband ended up in the ER there shortly after we arrived due to his ticker. However, for the first time ever they brought him back in rhythm with some sort of Mexican ckt drug. We had such good care! Never ever has drugs worked in the states to bring him back around he always needs a cardio version (sp?). We carefully enjoyed the rest of our vacation and husband was so happy not to make any decisions. He has since had an operation to fix his problem and so far so good. We did take out the extra insurance before that trip and was reimbursed. That worked so well I will never travel to another country again without it. Joanie, just do it! Life is short! When my kids were young we could only afford one big trip the whole time to France and England and some mid trips to the Carolinas and mid west. The trips they enjoyed the most though were trips to the Florida Keys on the Gulf side. Those trips were just a few hours south for us though. And I have to say that they were not as much fun for husband who worked so much and had to do the long drive and then go to a NON all inclusive where decisions on where to eat and how to amuse the children were nonstop. Once the kids were grownâ¦we have been doing some traveling as itâÂÂs a piece of cake with two....See MoreFavorite vacation destinations!
Comments (15)To us, it's equally important to choose a style of vacation along with the destination. It's also important to determine if you want a destination where English is the primary language or if you are fine with another language being predominant. There are "go to 1 place, take day trips, and lounge around" vacations. Then there are "go, move frequently, see the sights in a region" vacation. We tend to do the latter. My favorite to date has been Egypt, flying into Cairo and joining an organized tour of the region. My next favorite region has been Prague, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Awesome architecture and history in both! I've been fortunate to have spent alot of time in England, Scotland,Wales, France, Switzerland, Germany. To me, Wales is just more of England and Scotland. I'd take Scotland over Wales anyday...particularly because the golf is better in Scotland. My cousin's son will be moving from England to Bali in 2 wks. Bali and Indonesia are our next long distance destination. We're planning that to be a "stay in basically 1-2 locations, do day trips and lounge type of vacation". Good luck on your decision....See MoreWinter destinations warm enough for swimming?
Comments (5)At holiday time, Florida can be in the 80's. It can also be in the 40's - I've been there for both. There's just no guarantee, even as far south as Miami. It's bound to be warmer than wherever you're coming from, but that doesn't necessarily mean swimming weather. I think it was 3 years ago we were on Anna Maria Island just after Xmas. First day was almost 80, then dropped into the 40's for the next 5 days before it climbed back into the upper 60's. The entire west coast of FL was like that and the water was c-o-l-d!!!!...See More(I've been on vacation) What was your best Christmas gift?
Comments (9)Congrats! We have a new one baby coming in 2010 also! It is still very early for our DD...but they couldn't keep it a secret! LOL We are Nana & Papa! When the girls got bunnies years ago, they said we were grandpa and grandma....nope, don't like that so we went with Nana & Papa! Only prob, the other grandmother is called Nana also...and long before the kids met. :/ Oh well, they will figure it out quick! DH has a VHS to DVD gadget that he bought last winter. He has all of our old tapes now on DVD and we sent many to the neighborhood kids...that now have their own kids...from years ago when there were 15 kids in our neighborhood! Great fun, then and now! We haven't had our family Christmas yet, until the 9th then we will have all the kids together....to me, that is the best gift of all!!...See Morenosoccermom
