Advice needed on this entry way please
Comments (24)You do not have the space to store shoes for SIX people at your entryway. Why must you store their shoes there? That's unnecessary. They should select their "shoes du jour" from their closet and put them on at the entry. If they are in the house for the night, then they can take their shoes back to their rooms. Capt. Obvious says, "Children's shoes get bigger as their feet grow. If you store shoes at your entrance, then you will run out of storage space." You've trained the family to remove their shoes. Next step: Train them to return their shoes back to their own closets....See MoreNeed help with a small entry way. Need help with small entry way
Comments (7)I don't mind the table and mirror and can't really think of anything besides art that would fit on that wall. Can't see the table details well but could it be painted? How about red to match your lovely door? What would say "fresh and cozy" to you for that space? Have you thought of a new light fixture? A runner and a larger rug in the entrance could look good. I don't find the clock visible from the door to be welcoming so I'd be tempted to remove it....See MoreShoe or no shoe in tile entryway near wooden floor
Comments (5)I would call it personal preference. I don't like shoe molding, probably from the hours I've spent scrubbing them and still feeling like they look dirty. Having the shoe for the wood section end at the transition wouldn't bother me, but what matters is would it bother you? On the other hand, having a crooked edge where the tile meets the wall would bother me every day. What is the plan to make that edge look tidy if you don't go with shoe molding?...See MoreBest way to fix the paint on my front entrance?
Comments (4)Frustrating. If you decide you are going to replace it anyway.. any reason you can’t try a bit of sanding, wood putty, caulk and paint until you can find a someone you trust? If you lived anywhere near Orlando, Florida, we could refer a wonderful carpenter. Although these small jobs are really difficult to get help with. Hardly worth the craftsman’s time unfortunately.
