Art, accent furniture for large living room

Trying to fill living room with furniture and art/decor. Getting new mid century style sectional that will be light charcoal grey. Entertainment center is stained a brown that’s without yellow or red tones. So we chose blue as an accent color as it carries some color through house and compliments wood tones. Thoughts on similar art work with a accent chest, we need to fill back corner with something. Will have a coffee table and an arm chair just to right of sectional little towards the sliding door. Any input appreciated.

if doing a mid century type of vibe, consider this for the long wall with the tv
I like the way they've encircled the tv w/the wall shelving and console beneath it. bring in some wood arm chairs, maybe some leather poufs, and some plants near the slider. (I hope you're doing some other type of covering other than those vertical blinds).
some cellulars on the windows in an accent color would really liven up your windows

Comments (16)JuniperSt - we moved into a home with a very large great room also - overall size: 29â² long x 27â² wide. I actually ended up submitting the space and dimensions to Ballard Designs design team and they came up with a space plan for me with recommended pieces. I did select a couple of their pieces, but mostly wanted the space plan. I thought they did a great job. Instead of the dining table and console I did bookcases along that wall (where the console was suggested) and did two chairs with a table between in front of the bay window. You could submit your space to them and get some ideas that way - it's free! I did find the key to making the space work and be intimate was to define different spaces. This is also a major walk-through, so needed to be mindful of that. Oh, btw, our tv is huge - it needed to be in order to see it from the sectional. Comments (10)Wow! Those windows going out to the porch are beautiful. What a great view! I think you should have two separate sitting areas because the smaller chairs don’t work with the larger chair. I love how the larger chair looks with your sofa and pillows...just lovely! Is there room to remove the end table on the right and slide the rug, sofa, and big chair down a couple of feet? And keep the big chair angled towards sofa like in the first photo...away from the chase part. Then I would leave the two smaller chairs under the opening but pull them out a bit so that sitting area stands in it’s on. Comments (15)@rogerssic Symmetry or lack of it depends on the effect wanted. I think symmetry is very formal looking so sometimes it’s needed. But, what’s more important and easier to think about and see is balance. That is, are the pieces in the scape balanced and not all weighted to one side. I can’t see, from my crude calculations, why the 2 recliners can’t fit with couches in an L formation if the couch with back to window is moved closer to window. Both chairs can be angled toward center of room. I see one chair in front of DR entry opening, at left side of couch facing TV & the other close to corner at left of FP. Leave the floor lamp there for that recliner & move the other pieces out. The chair needs a small side table too. About the coffee table, it can be in front of either couch but maybe fits better in front of couch along window bc of the 1 recliner across from it. If the folks on the couch facing TV & FP need feet rests, pouffs are wonderful & portable things! Might need a small table in area between that couch left end & recliner & I think it will fit. some ideas:
ignore the chairs here. just look at console, art, plants.
maybe a little mini-bar area or a nice console w/a beverage set-up.
you could also make it a cool little sitting area.
