What color should we stain our hardwood floors?
Comments (4)Maple is known and widely used for it's pretty light and clear color. Not many people choose to stain it. However, if that is something you're really want, it can be done, and as an added bonus to staining the Maple, you can now use an oil poly instead of a water, making it much more durable over the long run. As far as color goes, don't go too Grey, your kitchen is allowed to have it's own color scheme. The Flooring Blog The Couture Floor Company...See MoreWhat color to stain my hardwood floors
Comments (4)I am answering not from a place of how any of these stains look because my taste is terrible. With that said, I would pick a medium stain over a dark stain because dark floors show everything, and I have neither the time or the energy to try to make them look nice....See MoreWhat color stain was used to achieve the color on the hardwood floors?

Comments (6)And to add to what Patricia says, Acacia is often the short leaf Acacia. It isn't a tree at all but a wood shrub. Yah. Shrub. That means SHORT PLANKS. It is going to look choppy. The colour variation of Acacia is SUPER HIGH. That's why you will find 'almost white' in the same box as dark gray (in this colour). The actual colour of Acacia is sunshine yellow to milk-chocolate brown...and several reds in between. Yes they Acacia is hard...but it is also hard to live with if you are not ready for it. The reason why you are seeing so many 'repeats' of that blond plank is: photo shop. The 'artist' (probably someone in mainland China where most of the world's cheap lumber comes from) has had 10sf put together. They photographed that 10sf and then 'duplicated it' in photoshop. And therefore a 'blond plank' keeps popping up over and over and over again. What I normally tell clients: if you SEE it in the sample OR in the 'online photos' then EXPECT IT to be more/worse in the real floor. These planks are going to a maximum of 4ft long. Most will be 2ft long. That's why it is A) a decent price and B) it shows as being 'choppy' in the photos. The actual shrub doesn't get more than 5-6ft high...which means planks are going to be much shorter than that. What's the price you are seeing on this wood?...See MoreRelated Professionals
