You know there will be a lot of comments on why your husband has vetoed the leather sectional you love…so, I might as well get it out of the way. What is his reason?

First of all, the rug need not be gray.

I’ll tell you an easy way to do it…go find the gray sectional. Match it to a paint chip. Using that strip, choose a lighter gray you like a lot for the walls.

For instance, Deep Silver, on 5th column, for the fabric and one of my favorite grays, Bunny Gray, for the walls.

I want to understand why no leather. Does your husband like spending money on furniture every 5 yrs. As for the color IMO it is easy to add color to a gray spce , get a rug with color , drapes that work with the rug, some art on the walls and pillow ont he sofa.

Yes you like grays and its your right. Grey is in trend this season, and its no obligation to make all items in full grey. The rugs are nice with grey tones and dusty other colors, for example, artificially old garpets etc. Grey is really working when use in silk knit, with a bit of brightness.

Greys can be found also in mother of pearl, try to find an object for a room.

Also grey accents can be made in arts, vases, chandelier shades.

Look at the grays in natural minerals, for e,g,, agathe, wild crystals etc.

Its winter and Christmas is coming, You also can use knitted plaids and cute pillows in greys.

It's absolutely doable! Different shades of grey can be used to create a cohesive backdrop against which you can add pops of your other favorite colors via drapes, art work on the walls, decorative pillows, throw blankets, houseplants, etc.

Have you considered having the leather sofas re-dyed or other cleaning? I imagine the PB sofas are pretty nice structurally and were quite an investment.

You got the wrong kind of leather. I have had leather furniture forever our old set that withstood 3 rowdy boys is now 40+ yrs old and in my sons basement . The only thing he did when he got it was repace the stuffing in the cushions it was Italian made with no springs and still sits like new.

Patricia Colwell - we did the same. Just had the cushions restuffed and our set looks brand new - it's 20 years old and used everyday - kids, dogs and hubby can ruin it. Saved us thousands as we were looking to replace.

IMO sectional are always uncomfortable seating for everyone except the 2 guys that got the arms. A sofa and 2 chairs gives you lots of flexibility and 4 people who are alwys comfortable.
