In your second art work there is a girl with braids in the upper right corner, next to it on the left is a square with a lime green and then a yummy rust on top of it. That rust is the color I would choose for the drapes, it's gorgeous on your wall color and would look so warm and inviting and original. I think you're on the right track.

take down these small pics and then use painters tape to mark out the larger sizes I'd prob go w/more rectangle, and something in this size range. (i can't turn it like Celery does!) similar dining rooms to give you ideas of what sizes to hang if you want two, make them like this

While lovely your room is a little "over curated". It seems like this room could use a little fun and definitely some color. Find some art that speaks to you, something on canvas with color. go to art shows, art fairs, etsy etc... look for local artists etc.. you could buy 3 or 4 different ones and put them up in rotation so you have a different installation each season or weekend ! lol You room would look amazing and cool with pop art or some abstract art if you are concerned about color try vintage art.. or a reproduction art art is so personal no one can pick for you. What I wouldn't do is pick some piece that "goes with" your decor, avoid the 3 B's: blend in, boring and banal. Pick something that speaks to you/ makes you feel something! I promise it will transform your whole space with life. post pics as you find things! I agree with Yvonne above, painting the grate a color matching the wallpaper will help it disappear, vents are not trim.

First impression: number 1. I like that the multiple round items are a contrast to all the squares and angles. It looks more intriguing to me and draws me in. And I’m certainly not a pro, but the right (or both) side of your fireplace area looks a like a bit of color is needed. Perhaps it’s the photo angle Making it look just a tad bare , so I’ll stand corrected if that’s the case. PS: I’m in love with Jinx’s rug! I may be stealing this idea, Jinx. 😄.
