Actually right now you have 21'9" or 261". If you take one foot away from the kitchen/dining area I created to add to the entry, that leaves you with 20'9" or 249". Perimeter cabinets with counters take up 25.5" leaving you 223.5" Assuming an aisle of 48" (which is considered ideal) that leaves you 175.5". An island with counter seating is 42" wide which would leave you 133". A standard dining table is 42" wide which would leave you 91.5". Assuming you need a minimum of 36" behind the dining table, that leaves you 55.5" between the island and the edge of the dining table which is just shy of the 60" which is considered ideal. So it's quite possible to have what you want and increase your entry by 1' to 5' wide.

That is quite a bit of difference between floors but talk to your floor installer about what to use for transition . MY first thought was remove the extra in the kitchen but of course unless you are redoing the kitchen that really doesn’t work. FYI I think carpet next to a kitchen would not be something I would do , why not just the same LVP all through the main floor and use a nice area rug in the LR. After looking at the spot where the issue is I think I would do some sort of transition strip since that opening is not huge.

if it is no more than 9' to the sink, it would still be convenient distance even if it feels separate. Maybe if you can add a little cabinetry on the other side of the door and connect it with the sink area, it would feel like the same room. If you have at least 36" of walking space or even up to 48" and still have room for maybe a 12" deep pantry wall opposite the sink that could help too. You could have glass doors on the upper portion to have a window effect.

Leave the pantry! In the scheme of things, 4 x 7 is not all that large. Pantries are used for more than just food. My pantry is 7 1/4 x 9 1/4. I wish it were larger. The #1 thing that I would do in your kitchen is what we did with the refrigerator wall. We recessed the fridge into the space behind making the fridge even with our counters. Our refrigerator is not a counter depth width, but looks like it because it is recessed into the wall. In your case, it will free up some floor space in front of your island, and open up that indented area between your fridge and counter space where your pantry door is. From one of your drawings, it looks like that could easily be done. It would take up a little space in your pantry and that closet, but the rewards will be well worth it. Your dishwasher area would also be more open. My new kitchen has the dishwasher on the left side. I was not sure of having it that way because I have always had a right handed dishwasher with being right handed. We are currently in a rental house with a left handed dishwasher and I love it! So much easier to load for some reason. My disposal will also be on the left side. My appliance are not yet installed in this photo, but wanted to show you what I mean. The door opening to the right goes into my pantry. The red line represents the back of a 2 x 4 wall. My standard width refrigerator extends to that wall. Note that the door opening is 2" x 6" thick. So we utilized that 6", plus another 8" of area inside the pantry. That gave us 10" to move the refrigerator back.
