Spouses of Hosta lovers or Hosta Lover's Lovers
Comments (35)Well my DH wins the prize. He hasn't divorced me or threatened to take away my spade, yet. I don't know if all of you saw the photos that Jim (Idiothe) posted of Sheila and I with our kayaks and bikes and the car completely loaded with hostas? Well in order to do that we loaded all our gear in our boats. It is my hubby's car. (both our names are on it, but it is his vehicle 98% of the time.) I drive the used Mommy van that gets used as a truck for hauling mulch and whatever. But the kayak rack is mine, and I can't load boats on my van due to a bad shoulder. So..... he is very particular about his car. He hates me putting the rack on, he will not drive on gravel, etc. So with my bad shoulder, and the heavy boats, I couldn't lift my end of Sheil's up very well. So the J cradles kept twisting and falling down. I finally found a man to help us. We finally got it loaded, made it home... and there are dents all over the top of the car. Bad dents, like really big hail. :( Like will never come out. I feel awful, I do. Whats done is done, and he isn't holding it against me. But he is so sad. And I am too. But I did get all my hostas home! So he wins the hosta hubby of the year award. I need to get those trophies made, don't I? Anyone want to nominate their Wife for the Hosta Wife of the year award?...See MoreFellow animal lovers, I need your help...
Comments (29)YEH!!! you got a new shelter dog!!! I live on 20 acres and have 16 dogs (all fixed). I keep them basically in three groups. I have lots of fencing and cross-fencing. My husband has electrified the bottom of the fence in some of the areas. I do have several that would kill each other if they got together but I've got it managed well. So I laugh when people think a third dog is "crazy." I don't work and that's helpful, of course. Late last year I did give my pug to rescue. There's a strong pug rescue group in my state so I knew she'd probably find a better place than here. I didn't think I could keep her from becoming obese. So I recently replaced her with a new shelter dog. He's so cute. He's gentle and quiet so far - an important thing when you have so much canine energy in one place. So many, many great dogs in the shelters - I could find one any day in there that I would just LOVE!!. vicky...See MoreHow Much Are You Willing to Spend on a Purse?
Comments (93)The most I have paid for a purse was $75 in 1987. I loved the colour of the leather. I bought that purse, loved the smell of it but after I bought it I regretted the decision. It didn't have a handle or strap. I walked a far way from the bus stop to where I worked and the purse was heavy and I didn't like having to carry it under my arm. I still have that purse, looks good as the first day I bought it. Waste of money. I haven't had to buy myself a purse in a long long time but I seem to have a good sized collection. I have a cousin who buys me a purse for my birthday every year and the purses she picks out are perfect except for the one that had so much hardware and metal studs and buckles that it was just too heavy for me to carry. My sister would also buy me purses, I have 2 "Kathy" purses. I didn't know anything about the designer or that my purse was even a "Kathy" purse until a co-worker grabbed it off my arm and gushed over the silver bag. My sister loved purses and bought all kinds, some way expensive and some not so much. She told me about the purse my wealthy cousin gave to her. It was a $700 purse. When my sister died and I was packing up her apartment we came across several purses. I kept a few of them, gave some to my sister in law for herself or my nieces to use. Looking at those purses if there was a purse that cost $700 we couldn't tell which one it was. I gave the ones that I thought might have been the expensive purse to my sister in law but we will never know and if not someone who bought one of the donated purses from the thrift store got a good bargain haha. My cousin confirmed she gave the expensive purse to my sister so I know she wasn't making that up. I can't imagine spending that much money but then I don't have that much money to spend on a purse, some people do....See MoreColor-lover looking for help with RUG and other accents
