Comments (8)Absolutely, many of the clear coatings used on cabinetry are prone to yellowing, and this is particularly evident on white cabinetry. While I am still researching this myself for our upcoming kitchen project, what I can tell you is that the only completely non-yellowing finishes must be waterborne. Look into ICA or Milesi coatings which have some great waterborne finishes. Sherwin Williams' industrial division can also provide information on waterborne finishes. One of the favorites of painters is in the United States is Sherwin Williams' "water white" lacquer for cabinets, but it isn't waterborne so will yellow slightly in time, just a little less than average....See MoreHi gloss vs. low gloss on gutters and downspouts?
