Comments (55)If you are willing to wait on a custom propagation (by this I mean that the person will take a cutting, root it, and grow it specifically for you until it is ready to ship) then I recommend reaching out to One Love Rose and Gardens and ask if they have it and if it is available for custom propagation. I bought TANgust (Augusta Luise) from them as a custom propagation and am very happy with it. I bought a few other custom propagation roses also and, while they are not ready yet, their last newsletter had a photo of the custom propagation roses and they all look healthy. Custom propagation takes time, anywhere from 1 - 2 years (my custom propagation order from Freedom Gardens [which coincidentally includes The Prince] won't be ready until 3 years of waiting O.o due to a bad 2023 growing season there), so please be aware of that should you choose to go this route. I have bought both delivery and local pickup from One Love Rose and Gardens and have been very happy with my roses. Edit: please know that some people may consider me a patient person because I am willing to wait years for the hard-to-find roses I want....See MoreDoes anyone know where I can find David Austin’s The Prince Rose?
Comments (21)I checked High Country Roses and their plants are own root. I recommend The Prince be grafted. I got my plant around 2010 from Palatine and it's grafted on multiflora. It was a slow growing plant until I moved him to a spot he liked more, and his progress has been slow and steady through the years. The Prince is now a large nicely shaped shrub. He's been blooming since May, but is now taking a rest in our hideous heat. It's the first time I can remember The Prince pausing his bloom much. Diane He starts very dark. The heat wave starts and he lightens up some. The heat is too much, and he orders his men to dry up. He likes to do the two toned thing. This is from 2023. I don't know what brings it on. He's been single toned this year....See MoreDoes anyone know where I can find these tiles?
