burn stain on white quartz countertop
Comments (44)I had a feeling it was Chinese. The Chinese use a different manufacturing method than the Breton Technology used by Cambria, Caesarstone, Silestone, and the other big manufacturers. When I bought my Pentalquartz, which is Breton-made in Vietnam, the warehouse manager told me that the owner of Pental, which is a big west coast granite company, went to China to see their manufacturing facility, and he wouldn't buy it. He said the resins are cured at lower temperatures for shorter time periods. So there's the cost-savings, but it's not as durable. I've read here of surface pitting with Chinese quartz. That's unheard of with Breton quartz. So now we see your water marks, which is ridiculous. I would have them take that junk out and buy a reliable brand of quartz myself. I'm saving your photo to show others what can happen when they buy Chinese. They never believe me that Chinese quartz can have problems. They just look at how pretty it is and how much money they save....See Morestains on white quartz
Comments (1)I have a light-colored quartz and have seen water rings left from glasses when the lighting is right, but they disappear after awhile. I don't think hot water through a silicone pad is enough to etch quartz. Can you feel the spots? I'd clean it with Soft Scrub with bleach for now. If they don't disappear, you could try a warranty call. Perhaps the resins in your lot of quartz didn't cure long enough or some other rare occurrence....See MoreWhite Quartz for medium stain cabinets
Comments (10)Recommend you look at samples side by side. The Silestone White Zeus Extreme was the whitest to my eye but some of the quartz products may "read" a little more beige, yellow, blue etc. depending on the lighting and cabinet color. Jdez's is called Stellar Snow, it has silvery and gray metallic flakes in it for a little "bling"....See Morestained brand new white quartz countertops
Comments (15)i have been posting on another Houzz thread regarding my White Quartz. Installed 3 months ago. White Denali Quartz from AZ Tile. It gets pewter color little lines from ANYTHING metal (stainless pans) , belt rubbing when u lean , mixing bowls, anything with an alloy as the guy from AZ TILE just told me. This has happened since day one. My fabricator didnt really know what is was. Most coming off with joy/ Palmolive detergent and elbow grease or bar keepers friend. VERY ANNOYING. Some hasn’t come off and Ive been told to use Magic Eraser and scrubbing bubbles without bleach. I will try today. Counter top looks great, but it’s NOT the easy maintenance everyone said it’s suppose to be as I am constantly having to wipe off these little grey lines. Also caused a lot of little lines when my sweater that had some plastic little stud like balls on sleeves was resting on counter. then I had a feathery herringbone effect of little whispy grey lines. . First pict is counter after Scrubbing Bubbles (no bleach) & Magic Eraser 2nd pict is counter after sweater rubbing. 3rd pict is Our Newly Remodeled Kitchen 4th pic is sweater I was wearing that made marks. SO, it took 10 sec using Scrubbing Bubbles (without bleach) and magic erase and damp cloth. Voilla!!! No elbow grease needed. Finally, an answer !! I wonder if this would work on your coffee stains??? swaeter that caused little whispy grey lines when my arm was resting on counter back and forth using ipad...See MoreFsal
