Window treatments in open concept

I have a living room that opens up into a “empty play room” area. The living room has curtain rods. Unsure if I should place curtains on the window near The fireplace or let be. What would look the nicest?

also... the robins egg blue curtains may clash with the sea salt paint in the other “blank” room. These don’t need to stay.

Should my curtains all be the same color in an open concept house?

Paint colors are accessible beige in the living room and sea salt in the “blank” room.

Only if you don't like curtains, otherwise, nothing wrong with it.

Since you have a partial wall separating the rooms, they don't have to be the same. All windows in the same room should match or coordinate. i.e. you could have curtains at the largest window/s and romans in the same fabric in smaller windows.

You could just put curtains in the one room and none in the other, too.

I see your point about the white spindles drawing the eye away. We hadn't even thought about doing anything with the staircase. We were leaning towards doing a white wall with possibly gray trim- we like the cleaner fresh feeling. We were unsure as to whether or not to do anything with the trim. We love the wood look but perhaps it's too much?

2 years ago I put beautiful roller shades in my large family room window after a huge remodel. They are beautiful, but I miss the ability to control light, and the "all up or down" situation. We also need to control our light due to hardwood floors, so we have kept them mostly open. Now our backyard neighbors have put in a two-story addition. I wish I had stayed with blinds, faux wood or wood. I am curios how faux wood ceh4010 used in Las Vegas are holding up to the heat and sunlight. We live in a similar climate.

I need pictures and as for your LED lighting just change the bulbs to 4000K (daylight) IMO DR chandeliers can be totally stand alone in style as they are the star of the space usually. But without pictures I have no idea what you are dealing with.

I hadn’t thought to try to invoke a warranty but will look into it. I wonder whether any warranty even transfers to us, as we did not buy the shades. We could get away with having nothing there but you can really feel the cold come through in the winter when you open the shades so may as well have some insulation for overnight. I think I also prefer the coziness of closing in for the evening. That said, could that be the only curtain in the house or do I have to do a cellular shade for consistency with all of the windows? The curtain would be an easier fix but I’m very concerned about doing something that is considered ”wrong” for resale.

We have three large windows and a patio door on our lower level. I feel like doing curtains on all four would be obnoxious. Am I right?

Do you need the blinds for privacy/light control? If not I would either remove them or raise them completely when not needed. I much prefer curtains over blinds/shades. You can extend the rod past the windows and use panels that can be closed if necessary ( be sure to use enough panels to be full when closed).

We do need them for privacy and light control. Lots of sun and lower level. We plan to update the blinds to Bali brand. I always use extra panels and extend my rods. next to decide what type of curtain design to use with sea salt? Something to tone down the honey oak? Linen, gray, design or no design.

I would use the same style as your pretty blue curtains but in an off white for the other room. The curtains create a beautiful, warm, finished look.
