Auggierose, it is beautiful. I am happy about how my floors turned out but if i got to start from scratch i would choose the floors I showed you. Did you look at the owners comments? They told the exact type of wood (white oak) the color stain, and the finish. I will be so jealous if you get them! And happy for you--eventually. I am kidding! You could choose the same wood, stain, and finish with the wide planks. It really is a matter of what you like best. Don't choose based on trends. My husband and I choose dark stained trim and base boards because that is what we like. The other day an interior decorator was here and she said the new trend in our area is dark trim. Ugh! I guess it reaffirms our choices but I really wanted to be different. My point is that trends come and go. Choose what catches your eye. When you are looking at online pictures and keep coming back to something that is a sign. Both floors are beautiful. There isn't a wrong choice.

Is this in the home you want to purchase? If so, then you probably won't find this laminate any more. Man-made products, such as laminates/vinyls/engineered hardwoods often have a time limit as to how long you can find them on the market. That time limit is normally 18 - 24 months. If this homeowner put the floor in MORE than 2 years ago...you probably won't find a match. And by looking at the tones in the floor, this looks rather pink. And pink, in flooring, hasn't been fashionable for many years - decades even. Please have a back up plan for the flooring of this home. I would be 99% sure you won't find this product in any quantity (other than 2-3 boxes in someone's basement) at this time. Be prepared to have to work with something else. That will prevent some of the disappointment you will have after searching for this for 12months without any luck.

As Patricia points out, we need to know the colours you are working with. Of course one of the simplest matches = maple.

I usually get inspiration from the countertops. The counters read "yellow with green". Of course this is probably the yellow being thrown from the wall colour. Go ahead and paint your walls 'primer white' to get rid of the yellow cast. Now you go ahead and look at the counters in a neutral situation. As someone who is not fond of the counters, I would have a hard time choosing something that comes close. Perhaps a porcelain "limestone" looking tile. It will have creamy off-white colours to it. Sadly, the living room floors - the white wood-look tiles - have been MATCHED to the kitchen tiles. This is where things will get mucked up. Once you change the COLOUR of the tile in the kitchen you will disturb the 'flow' from one floor to another. It then becomes a question of how much do you like the WHITE wood-look tiles throughout the rest of the house?
