Has Anyone Had Any Luck With Mail Order Plants?
Comments (13)I buy almost all of my plant material online and have for about 4 years. I just changed bulb vendors - I used to buy where I got the best $$$ because to me, bulbs tend to be more of an annual than perennial. If I leave them to over winter they either drown in our wet winters or get eaten by furry mammals that don't belong to me. If they don't over winter, I may use them again or I may forget where I left them...didn't say I was bright! Anyway, I have a new attitude since I bought bulbs from easytogrowbulbs.com. They are so supportive! I bought the largest Dahilia tubers I've ever seen last year and you can bet I remembered where I put them! They were healthy and gorgeous and I can't wait to see what I buy this year from them!! Roses, which are my favorite, come primarily from chambleeroses.com or antiqueroseemporium.com and perennials from paradisegarden.com or wayside gardens. I'm also going to try Steambank gardens this year because they are 100% organic. I'm not sure I'm going to continue with Wayside. In the past they've been great but I was pretty disappointed in the sizes offered and the quality of plants rec'd this year....See MoreHas anyone had any experience ordering from Roots & Rhizomes?
Comments (16)Yes, I’ve ordered from them 5 yrs. The lovely Daylilies are always true to what you selected, and the clumps are large and healthy. Not one of them has failed to thrive. Actually the neighbors and dog walkers always stop at my house to admire the 30 some lilies that reliably bloom every summer. They’re so healthy, I have to give away babies. I also purchased Veronica, and I have to cut it back to get sun to shorter plants. I don’t know about customer service, because I have never needed to contact them. Perhaps the negative reviews are due to operater error....See MoreHas Has anyone ordered from 'Flowers by the Sea"?
Comments (9)I've had good experience ordering hummingbird plants from Plant Delights although I buy salvias from Colonial Creek Farm. I'm basically in the same geographic zone as you. The small salvias I planted in spring grew robust, three feet tall and three feet wide. I'm trying to have them stay in the ground this winter hoping they will survive under mulch, sheltered by a fence. I do not have unheated space to overwinter. If they don't survive the winter I will try grow lights next year. I sure hope we don't have a harsh winter....See MoreHas anyone ordered from r&p greenhouse?
