I wear old jeans and t-shirts unsuitable for anything else. I rarely wear shorts as I cannot stand dirt at the back of my knees. Also always a baseball cap. I try to remember the sunscreen too but sometimes forget. I usually carry a bandana around to wipe my eyes if I get sweaty(which I do ). I wear last years hiking boots on my feet and always with socks. My pruners are clipped to my jeans in a holster, my pocket knife in my pocket and a pencil behind my ear. I try not to lose my gloves but it happens often. In fact I lost my right glove in the front yard and my left in the backyard on Sunnday! My mom came home from dinner and found them. I don't need sunglasses, my bifocals have transition lenses. I also use a kneeling pad for my bad knees. I tried the ones you wear but found the straps to be uncomfortable at the backs of my knees. When I worked landscaping for a living 20 years ago I had several sunscreen shirts. They were pricey but very nice. I have since not only aged but also expanded and they went to the goodwill years ago. My neighbors all think I'm a little off anyway when I'm talking to my flowers or out at the crack of dawn pollinating. So it dosen't really matter how I dress.LOL! Kim

Hi guys. I just wanted to drop my 2 cents on the gardening gloves. My husband buys gloves online from a company called A.S.A. Corp. They are a safety company that sells all types of gloves, safety glasses,etc. They are manufacturers and there prices are much better than Lowes or HD or any other store ive seen. I bought 6 pairs of pig skin gloves with white fleece lining from them. Now I had to call them because they dont list that particular glove but I paid 5.00 for them as compared to $12.00. I have been using long pants (usually sweats) in the yard for the past 2 summers, and they really help with the mosquitoes (for some reason they go after my legs more than my arms). I haven't found a good shoe type. I don't want to wear boots and sandals do not do the job sometimes. I'll try crocs or something similar also. I recently started using nitrile gloves also. it feels good to be able to walk into the house with mostly clean hands, even though I know some people like working in bare hands. I don't mind but dirt under the finger nails is something I don't think too much about nowadays, after realizing that I am comfortable with the gloves doing yard work.

Maire_cate, I love L&T! My favorite place to shop for special occasion dresses, but there is no location near me. There is one in my hometown. No weddings this summer, but I needed a dress for an awards ceremony at my conference (I became recognized as a Fellow in my professional organization) and dinner. I went to the largest location of local dept store since they have a giant special occasion dress section figuring *something* had to work. I found this Ann Klein dress that is very figure flattering--though I normally have trouble with sheath styles, and I am not at the size I would like to be. I did not feel either overdressed or under-dressed. Plus, It is a knit. Then I went upstairs and tried on some shapewear with it. I felt as good as I could. It was the first dress I tried on out of a whole bunch. Many of the Anne Klein dresses were very flattering. I have a similar-looking vintage cocktail handbag from my mom, and I forgot to pack it.
