Solar panel wiring.

My current array 48 210W panels(approx 10kwatt total capacity) runs with Enphase inverters to send A/C down from the roof and then a considerable distance to the electrical panel. The wiring is organized as 4 220V circuits with individual insulated solid conductor wires (12ga?) in conduit that go to 20 amp breakers. If I were to replace the panels with newer 300W+ panels and new inverters, the wiring would need to be upgraded. Would this be better done with more individual circuits or does it make sense to combine the wires into a small number of thicker (lower guage) wires?
