what color trim to use with SW Alabaster
Comments (28)I picked up a sample board at a flooring store. It’s still hard to tell with that size but better than the little square. When you are close to making a decision, you should buy 1 box and lay it around. Also - I found that Costco sells calypso oak. The website allows you to see what it looks like in your house. I don’t know if other sites have this option but when I was deciding, I didn’t see anything like this for Calypso Oak. https://costco.shawfloors.com/flooring/vinyl/details/coretec-plus-enhanced-plank-7-vv012/calypso-oak...See MoreIs there a color in between SW alabaster and SW creamy?
Comments (5)Are you standing in my kitchen right now? I have the same backsplash, countertop and cabinets except dark brown. North Fort Worth? We painted our whole home in Sherwin-Williams Softer Tan. Creamy and Alabaster were in the lineup; Alabaster was way too light and Creamy was just a smidge too light. Trim in SW Dove White. There are times during the day the color moves from a neutral beige to a yellow undertone. The kitchen tiles seem to have a pink undertone, at times, but it works for me. And I didn't want the tiles to be not a focal point. I feel if you go with something between creamy and alabaster those tiles will stand out which is good if that's your goal. Considering we changed from scuffed greige circa 2013 to this (bought the home in 2017) it's been a breathe of fresh air. I don't feel the color is heavy, and I'm not into light bright and airy. I like neutral colors with some kind of body and weight....See MoreHas anyone tried lightening SW Alabaster?
Comments (19)@Marylee H I was just comparing the specs on the colors after reading your super educational comments on other similar posts! I did find that Cold Foam is closest to Alabaster, just lighter and more neutral...which is exactly what I wanted! I happened to have the catalogue with the two colors included so I've been studying them, and Cheviot looks pretty yellow so I'm surprised to see that it's more neutral according to the chroma. Anyway, thank you so much for pointing out those colors (that I've unknowingly overlooked even though they were right here in my room all this time, ugh) and explaining the meaning behind the numbers! Comments (11)I am not a designer, but this article recommends Alabaster as a trim color with Natural Choice. “SW Natural Choice tends to look the best with white paint colors with a bit of warmth to them. My favorite color to use on the trim to complement it is Sherwin Williams Alabaster. It has a bit of warmth to it and it looks lovely paired with NC.” https://westmagnoliacharm.com/natural-choice-sw-7011/painting/...See MoreTonia McConnell
