Last year Edmunds was not Edmunds any more but Jung. However, before Edmunds sold out the nursery and the name to Jung I got a very disappointing clone of Maria Shiver from Edmunds. By the time I realized that the rose was doing nothing (wasn't dead but still a dwarf that barely flowers) Edmunds were not available any more. The other roses I got from them in the same order were disappointing, too but at least they bloom more or less (rather less than they should). My guess is that their growers didn't pay much attention to the quality having got the wind of Edmunds closing down. Jung probably could not or didnÂt inspect the crop  they might have assumed that they would get the quality Edmunds gained the name for.

Hey Leslie! No I didn't get SEQUOIA BALLET. It's very pretty tho. Be sure and post some pics! Well, my Edmund's catalog arrived today!! I'm sooooo glad I didn't order yet. I don't think I like the looks of SPANISH SUNSET. Well, no actually it is quite interesting, but I just don't have room for more dk orange fl's! I like ALL-AMERICAN MAGIC tho. Kinda reminds me of GEORGE BURNS only more of a rosette-type bloom. Guess I'll get it, ADOLPH HORSTMANN and a replacement REMEMBER ME for the one that is dying on me, after 10 yrs. Bummer... I finally get the dang thing in the ground and it goes into major shock and dies.

Roses for spring shipment are just now being harvested so the so the rep. was probably right in the roses had not come in yet. Jungs/Edmunds do not grow their roses. They buy roses from Weeks mostly and contract for the better of the grade 1 stock. Not true about not knowing what stock they'll have. The catalogs are prepared and printed with that knowledge. Unless a crop fails they should be able to take orders on any rose in the catalog. Most will allow add ons but a few places charge a little for the service. At this early stage few places have roses in their warehouses except maybe the growers.

Well guys, I'm more than happy to enable you all! LOL I decided to change out one of the roses on that list above. I think I'll hold off on MADAME ANISETTE. Not sure where she will go. And I'm thinking maybe she'll show up at Lowes in the spring. The one I am changing to tho is COLOR MAGIC. I lost mine several yrs ago, and got a replacement one earlier this yr from Heirloom (or was it RVR?)... anyway, it was obviously own-root. Well, it died on me the other day. I think I'd rather have it grafted. Still gotta send the order in. Then, I wanna do a small order from Hortico, seeing as how they have to replace a couple from last yr that were the wrong roses. I have to pay the shipping, so figured I'll order a few more roses.... They have a bunch of DAs that they didn't have last yr. I gotta fill in the apricot/yellow bed with a couple more... Also wanna do a small order from J&P once they get the rest of their roses added on. I really don't need any more roses... LOL but I lost a very large amount this past season so I have quite a few open spaces to fill in. We'll all have to compare our PRINCESS CHARLENEs next yr!!
