X post-what flooring is this? + suggestions welcome for gen idea
Comments (4)ohhh, yes! That must be it! We narrowed it down to flagstone on the other forum, and someone posts a link for a tennesse flagstone company. But this looks even more like it. I just think it is odd that it is INSIDE the house. I noticed on the link you provided there are no interior shots. I wonder what the pros/cons are to having this inside (only in one room...living/dining area. Rest of the house is wood.) I will say it is awfully bumpy/uneven and I am concerned about tables and chairs on it...I think they will be unsteady. Thank you Rob!...See Morecheck out this rock flooring...what is it, and ideas..please!
Comments (11)good eye! Thank you for that link, justgottobeme...I poked around on that site a bit and I believe it is TN flagstone. It is thinner than the fieldstone, and has a reddish/orangeish tone throughout. Makes sense that the real estate agent kept calling it "Tennessee River Rock." Shr probably heard "Tennessee" and that was all she remembered. Our plans are to clean it thoroughly (steam clean?) and then seal it with something not too glossy/slick. We are changing out the baseboards through the whole house. I love it...but I am curious as to how furniture will rest on it...it is pretty uneven and bumpy! Thanks again!...See Morehelp with window treatments and sitting area
Comments (3)I’d be inclined to use fuller drapes than those pictured above, to completely cover the wall space, between the windows. I think it would give the room a more opulent feel and provide an opportunity to add some colour and pattern (you might even consider hanging two more panels, on either side of the windows over your bed). You could mount the TV on a bracket (consider one that moves up and down as well as side to side so you may alter the angle, depending on whether you are in bed or seated) but you still need a place for the “stuff” TV’s need and you need to hide the cords. It might be easier to leave it on a stand, perhaps a more decorative one, that compliments your other pieces. A seating area would be nice, particularly if you anchor it with a rug, to visually define it. Finally, you might want to add some art or sculpture to the room, or possibly bolder throw pillows, for visual interest....See Moretable sell, keep or paint?
Comments (14)As others have posted, you are going to have difficulty selling the table as brown traditional used furniture has glutted the market. I just unloaded a lot of it. I found homes for some of the people at the last minute but donating it was really the only option. I had emailed pictures of some of the better pieces to large used furniture stores in my city and no one was interested. I posted an ad in craigslist and no one was interested. It is a nice piece as it is so I personally wouldn't paint it. I would donate it and hope that someone somewhere happened to like the style and needed a table - plus the benefit is a tax deduction plus the charity of your choice makes some money for a worthy cause....See Moreyadi8186
