I would try to convince her to 'uninsist'. That seems to blend into its site in its earthy color. A plus to my eye - And I am also in the PNW. She needs landscaping. My own ground here on the coast is too wet for spading and preparing new beds in January. And please note that the house behind and to the left are white. This house also white would be redundant.

have they already primed the ceiling? you could get your primer tinted in a 50% of the Moth gray. have them do the ceiling in it. if you don't like it, then they can just continue on and paint it in the regular white color. not a big deal. but getting a small sample from Behr is only $3. they can color match the Moth color and cut it by 1/2. it won't be exact, but it will be close enough that you can see if you like it or not. painting the ceiling is going to take on a diff look because of the way light reflects up onto it. So really, it's hard to say. try the tinting the primer option. it does't cost you anything extra.

Lisa not sure who you were asking but I would leave the stair treads and railing wood, and paint the balusters, and risers white. Really up to you on the stringers, if it were me I would leave them unpainted, see how I liked it, and if I didn't I would paint.

Is there a reason you want to paint the brick? It is because you're chasing the all-white look? Or is the brick truly bad? I had a painted brick fireplace at my other house, was there when I moved in and frankly it looked cheap. I did have it repainted a different color which improved it -- but painted brick is not an attractive look IMO. If it's truly horrible gold or pink brick or something, then go for it, but if it's a perfectly service traditional red, brown, or grey brick I'd work with it. Posting a pic would help responses.
