how long the cord is for electric string trimmer?
Comments (8)I have an 18V Black&Decker Lawn Hog cordless. I'm not a big fan of Black&Decker, but this trimmer has served me well for two years. Plenty of power for most homeowners and a fresh battery lasts about 10 minutes, so between both batteries you have about 20 minutes of continuous run time. One battery trims around my house and garage twice. Downside is you have to buy specific B&D string and if you have some thick stuff to trim you may find it underpowered. But probably no more so than a regular electric. Despite the questionable B&D build quality, I love it and would recommend it to anybody for LIGHT homeowner use. If your trim times put you over 15 minutes I probably wouldn't consider it....See MoreTroy-Bilt 4-Cycle Trimmer Won't Cold Start But Runs Amazing
Comments (6)You left gas in the carb for long time, even you vitually inspect the internal of the carb, it might not be good enough. Get SeaFoam and run a tankful and see what happen since you can somehow start it. If you are going to leave gas in the trimmer for storage, use Stabil from now on. The way I store stuff is to empty the tank, run it dry, close the choke, prime the bulb, hold full throttle and start it and let it run to stop, and keep pulling while holding full throttle. This should pull all the gas out of the carb. THis work only on handheld trimmer etc....See MoreSingle or Dual line string trimmers?
Comments (8)IMO! I would think for residential use you would get a lot of use from a Duel Line String Trimmer using one line. I have a gas mid grade Echo (10 yrs old) with dual feed but I only use one due to frustrations. I feel it would have better balance cutting and wearing with two lines. I have experimented with two independent lengths of heavy duty lines vs a spool with fair success vs a Weed Whacker, Etc. Such as, a âÂÂExtra Heavy Lineâ twice the needed lengths with two knots tied inside the spool to maintain lengths. Trimming is my Nightmare! I can cut this small City lot (70â X 120â minus house and drives in 30 minutes but trimming is 1 - 1.5 hr. A hard blade due to so much concrete saves and trimming ever 2-3 cuts (at about a 45 Deg angle vs straight up)....See MoreHomelite String Trimmer Died
Comments (3)1) It's got great compression pulling the recoil started, but I didn't measure it. I will do so. 2) The exhaust is only a small opening in back of the muffler. It's barely black. No oil residue (like my older Homelite that runs great after 21 years). 3) I don't have the receipt, and the tag on the unit says Sep 2011 (must have been old stock when I bought it). And yes, the unit looks like it was used barely once. The power head looks "box-new). I looked in Home Depot to see if they still carried that model, and they only have an electric Homelite trimmer. The only have Rypbi. Troy-Bilt and Echo gas trimmers. I'd have considered buying a new one and returning my "old" new one (not "legal" I know, but tempting). The clerk said they are phasing out ALL 2 cycle trimmers as they cause global warming, and because customers are concerned about pollution. The ONLY one Homelite still makes is: http://www.homelite.com/catalog/string-trimmers/UT33600...See Moressewalk1
