What kind of faux finish would look good...
Comments (5)Oceanna - wow those niches are amazing! Where in the world do you get the molding to go inside of them? That may be an upgrade for the future. But for now we can just paint it LOL. Michelle - I used to have a large painting in the niche but I moved it (I posted it on here and got some feedback that it was too large for the niche). SO I am currently hunting for a good 3D wrought iron sconce or some kind of plaque to put there. Something that comes out a bit, to give it more dimension, since it is a pretty shallow niche. Threedgrad - That finish is pretty! I'm going to Home Depot today to look at the glazes....See MoreWhat chandelier would look good over my stairs/catwalk?
Comments (10)Hard to tell from the photo, but it seems to me the hallway/stairwell is fairly narrow. Comments (2)The arch and stucco type seems to speak to a mediterranean or spanish style home. My theory is to not fight with the bones of a house. I would go with a smaller scale spanish-style fixture that fits closer to the ceiling as you do not have much height to play with. I would keep them consistent (not necessarily the same) but if you go with a darker bronze finish keep it consistent. Keep in mind the scale of the room when choosing the fixture. A really small room need a light fixture that is to the scale of the room....See MoreWhat would you do? Privacy that still looks good for front entry?
Comments (15)If it were me, and budget allowed it, I'd replace the door and the sidelights with a solid door for safety reasons, and you can match the period of the house. If that's not your concern, then how about just a roll-up shade mounted on the door to cover the glass, and then uncover it when you want the light. Or match the nice sheers you have. I would NOT want anyone to see in through my front door, but maybe that's me, and certainly would depend on the neighborhood you live in....See MorePajarito
