granite smudging, dull spot after repair.
Comments (3)The guy came back to polish the area. I was home when he was doing it. From one angle you couldn't see the spot anymore but from another way (you have to just be looking right and have the right lighting) you could and the spot was bigger. He said that should go away as the polish soaks in. Well, this morning the softball size area is still there but a little bigger. I don't know what to do. I maybe too picky, and have to stop looking. But I know that I don't want him back again. Our KD said that he's good and has been with them for awhile. There is always some bumps along the way. Our kitchen is turning out great though. Rapping up this week. I will have to figure out how to post pictures....See MoreDull spot on quartz counters - any advice?
Comments (50)April_Espinoza I had a sales tech come to my house last month. He had no answer for the countertop being how it is. I am getting a new one fabricated and installed on MSI expense, but I do have to repay a plumber for my sink/dishwasher hookup. You are correct, as time has gone on, the top is getting worse. You can see ring spots of every glass put on it, dull spots/smudges...I have no idea why it is like this. I'm leary on getting the new from them because I am wondering if thats just their product. I have never used a harsh cleaner or sponge. It will get worse as time goes on...im glad I contacted MSI bc they are backing the product...See MoreDull spot on silestone suede quartz

Comments (5)Yes. It turned out that the Bona Tile cleaner had left a residue that built up on the tiles, just as one of the comments suggested. So actually, the "dull" spots matched the original finish on the tiles and the bleach cleaner had stripped the film off leaving the original finish (I have a box of extra tiles in reserve in case of need for replacement and I compared one of those to the installed tiles). I used Aqua Mix Heavy Duty Tile and Grout cleaner diluted 1:3, a scrub brush, a lot of "elbow grease", and many buckets of water to get the residue off the tiles. It was a lot of work, but the floor now looks uniform, and spots no longer crop up when we spill something. The solution to my problem was offered on the John Bridge Ceramic Tile Forum....See MoreJoseph Corlett, LLC
