Comments (1)I used to get remnants bound to cover my family room floor, and after a few months, the binding always started to fray from the vacuum. My steps, on the other hand, were tucked under and it held up beautifully. Having given my experience, I would have to admit the type of carpet you selected is not as plush as what I had on my steps, and the quality of the binding used may make a big difference in how it holds up to the vacuum. Also, you might not be using the beater brush on your steps, but an attachment instead which might be less destructive. Comments (1)If your stairs do not curve the Shaw carpet should layout fine. I don't know if you are going wall to wall. If you are using this as a runner on stairs as you stated, you will serge the edges and they will come in about 3" on each side from wall exposing the wood of the stairs on each side. There will be the serge lines on each side that will create a frame for runner.
