How should I winter my newly rooted rose cuting

I had good luck with one rose cutting and my shrub is doing quite nicely. It is about 8 or 9 inches tall with many leaves and roots in a pot. I don't want to lose it over winter so wonder how would be the best way for it to survive. My garage does get down to zero on really cold, cold days. Will it survive best there with a little moisture added occasionally or would it be best to keep it in my house where it can continue growing all winter, or maybe you have a suggestion that is better. Any information you can give me will be helpful. I am in Zone 3.
