Please help me with bathroom paint color...please?
Comments (20)Thank you so much everybody! I LOVE the cabinets painted in the Bittersweet Chocolate so that is a definite (and moonshadow, thank you so much for posting the instructions!) I will also check into all the colors that everyone suggested. I had sampled Sea Salt on my wall and it looked very "baby blue" to me (again it is just a sample and still in my awful lighting). A few years ago, I had painted what I thought was a definite grey-blue on the walls. When all was said and done, it was a "baby blue". I really hated it. I lived with it for a couple of years and then redid the bathroom (in country wallpaper etc. which I have now come to hate too!) That is probably why I am trying to capture the perfect greenish tone in the paint because my family will think I have lost it if I paint and it turns "baby blue"... Thanks, again, everybody. It looks like I have some researching to do!...See MoreBathroom painted. Now need help with countertop! Please!!
Comments (19)I do like the idea of eliminating the upper cabinet and replacing it with a mirror. I prefer the dark counter, especially since you already have it and it's perfectly fine. Instead, while I can't see the light fixture, I'd put the money into lighting, esp around the mirror...either above or to the sides or a pretty pendant in front. I think the darkness you feel is more from a lack of light than from the colors in the room. The overhead is good for general lighting, but lighting around the mirror makes you and the room look better....See MoreNeed help with bathroom vanity - x-post with Bathrooms
Comments (13)I had the exact same problem. I picked out the vanity I wanted but did not think about the fact that it wasn't made to sit flush against the wall. I spent a month looking for something else, but in the end we decided to go with something shorter and have it not be against the wall. But we were going from 72" to 60" which is probably not workable in your mom's situation. I did find a lot of vanities that did have flat sides and could work in a corner, if you are willing to have the countertop fabricated. They just need to not have any trim detail on the top or bottom like the one you picked out does. I would just look at the ones without the pre-made tops. Because the pre-made top will still leave you with a slight gap because of the countertop overhang. This is an example: Avanity Modero which is sold everywhere, not just at Lowe's. The cabinet we ended up buying is an Avanity Madison which won't work for you, but I assume it is of similar quality. We are pretty happy with it. The drawers and doors have soft close but I do feel like the glides in my Ikea kitchen drawers are better quality. It is very pretty and I wanted a stained wood so I am really happy with our choice. If I had been willing to go with a painted finish, I think we might have stuck with the 72" Modero....See MoreHelp with dust film on bathroom countertops?
Comments (3)Has it been extra dry in your area? I swear if I dusted every single day things would still be dusty the next day!... Has it just recently appeared, maybe since you turned your heat on? Could your ducts possibly need cleaned? I think I would try a different cleaning method also, maybe some spray Lysol or similar type cleaner and use paper towels or a terry cloth towel, like the above poster suggested....See MoreRelated Professionals
