Comments (3)Can you post a pic of the entire room where the fireplace is? Is the other door (in 1st pic) the front entrance. I'll be honest and say that it looks very cluttered to the eye. I think it's more all the stuff on the walls and door. Maybe you can create a true gallery wall vs the mismatched frames, etc, if you are wanting stuff on the wall above sofa table. Does that sofa need to stay? What is it directed towards? Also, have you considered built-ins (closed storage) flanking the window? Could be double duty as a mudroom of sorts. If you keep fish tank, it could be encased in the built in....See Morefront entry help - front door is hidden
Comments (5)Oh wow, it's really hidden! lol Your furniture plan for the porch sounds lovely and I imaging having the door tucked away adds a nice sense of privacy and security. What about removing/relocating the bushes in front of the porch? Removing them might make the space look larger and more welcoming where as now they seem to make the space small and dark. Maybe swap them for some flowerbeds. It doesn't sound like you'd want to take on awindow-to-door conversion but it would look really great if you did. You've got a lot of space from an exterior view and having the steps lead up to the door would look very welcoming. You'd also have to consider what's on the other side of the wall and how that would affect the layout of your porch furniture, too (I'm sure you've already thought of that though). You've got a beautiful home, I'm sure whatever you decide it'll look great. Good luck! - Ariana...See MoreLooking for front entry ideas for small space!
Comments (17)That's a beautiful home. I don't think that area really NEEDS anything. If you need a place to put your keys and your purse, mail, etc, a small table like is there will work, maybe even a narrower taller one and have it face the door (on the taller wall). Wait until you actually move in and see how you live in the space. You may not want anything there either....See MoreEmpty Dead space in Den PLEASE help
Comments (10)Some thoughts: --You haven't given enough visual information. Need a view of space opposite the glass wall, i.e. entry you mention. There's art above the sofa--Yay--but not really visible so hard to suggest a rug style and color. --Live plants in front of the left corner of the glass wall would really enhance the room as well as seasonal landscaping in that corner outside to block the stairs. You mentioned this is the entry view someone sees coming into the house. Bring it to life with real plants indoors and out. The outside closest to the patio door needs to be considered as an extension of the den and not an afterthought. --The sofa is interesting but kind of overwhelms the space because of its size and dark upholster y. A larger patterned rug in lighter colors would help balance the sofa as would sofa pillows to echo a new, larger rug. -Get a round coffee table in a wood finish to bring natural element into the room. It should be substantial to pair with the sofa, yet up on legs to balance the sofa mass. --Add a couple small leather chairs to face the glass wall. --I like the sofa a lot. However, if you ever relocate it, think about this kind of arrangement for a sitting room where people can gather, go in and outside:...See Morehemina
