island sink vs. wall sink-which should be primary?
Comments (5)Sorry me again. Neither sink is primary - they are just designated for specific uses. How important is counter space for you - that might help you to decide which sizes of sinks to use and where. 20" on the island and 33" or 45" on the wall 33" on the island and 45" on the wall...See MoreSuggestions for kitchen remodel...removing old bar island.
Comments (1)One-level islands have many advantages to a two-tiered ones. People will want to see a rough sketch of the adjoining rooms, hallways, closets, widows and doors before they address some of your questions. It can be hand-drawn to give a sense of how the rooms relate to each other and walk patterns. A diagram of the kitchen and dining area with dimensions will also give you better answers and help. Comments (9)You could do a small vessel sink, which will require cutting a hole in the top and gutting the interior for the plumbing. The lack of size on this will force any faucet to likely need to be wall mounted, which is expensive, or offset to one corner. You will also have issues with water damaging the piece as vessel sinks do have more splashout and hand run off on the counter surface. Installing a stone slab on top would help with that. Or, you could place a stone slab on the top, after cutting away most of that top in order to allow a very small under-mount sink to be attached to the stone only. The piece is somewhat low for a undermounted sink. You could do a top mount sink on the existing surface, but that is an open invitation to almost immediate water damage. Or, again, you could cut out the top and place a stone slab on it for a top mounted sink. If you value the piece, I would use it elsewhere. For a powder room situation, I personally like as much counter space as can be squeezed out of a powder room....See MoreVessel Sinks-can only use one in this old cabinet and must be narrow
Comments (18)This one is around 20" x 10" and looks like a little bath tub! caracalla-ceramica-ceramic-rectangular-vessel-bathroom-sink This one is huge, but it will need a wall-mount faucet or one mounted way off to the side. I like it for a wall-mount. maykke-maykke-ceramic-rectangular-vessel This one is too narrow to be a comfortable sink, but it fits. whitestone-hox-ceramic-rectangular-vessel-bathroom-sink Believe it or not, this one is wider front-to-back than the whitestone-hox. caracalla-ceramica-ceramic-rectangular-vessel Need a side mounted or wall mounted faucet for this one , too. nameeks-caracalla-vessel-sink 4047 Another that takes up all the room on the top giving you a bigger basin. nameeks-caracalla-vessel-sink 4958 Still another big one. ideavit-pure-rectangular-vessel-sink 277041 Here, have one with holes for the faucet.
