Comments (15)MJLB, Thank you for all your wonderful suggestions. I may be able to move the piano to the office but I need to check if it would fit. If so how would you lay out the furniture. I plan to get new rugs in the dining room and living room sides and new sofa, chairs, coffee table and end tables, just not sure what to get. The furniture there is old stuff from our previous family room. What other accent colors do you think might work. There is a living room I am drawn to but not sure how to link it to this but it is in Ballard under the Concorde medallion panels more views. Is that a program that allows you to edit the pictures? jterrilynn, Thank you for your suggestion. What kind of molding would you use? Not sure it would work on the living room side because the front wall goes into the foyer. I do like the drapes above the arch but not sure if I can hang a curtain rod that high with the slopping ceilings. I really dislike the short stationary drapery rods but thought they may work in this room. Gosh this room is so difficult. Moving every few years is a pain especially when your selection of houses not great. I really appreciate everyones feedback and knowledge!...See MoreNeed help decorating living & dining room
Comments (5)Make it attractive by adding accessories. Buy an area rug for under the dining table that has your wall color in the pallet. Then take the other colors and use them around the room. You can get inexpensive panels for the windows to warm up the room -- the dining area and the third window. Add the same two panels to the living room window. You might get something textured or a small print, using the colors from the rug. Move the dinning table so the middle of it is directly under the light. I would add one or two floor plants in the corner of the dining area. Lastly, you can find something with color to hang on the wall at TJ Max or Target. I think your furniture is fine for "staging" the house for sale....See MoreHelp me decorate Dining/Living Room please

Comments (1)An observation: the chandelier in the dark room doesn’t work with the sputnik one. Something like this light would work. Rectangular in shape, so great for over the table, and the same metal as the sputnik. Assuming the dark room is the dining room, then bring that color into the living room with a sofa in that color. Art can be whatever you love, and considering It is a playroom, something fun would be appropriate....See MoreMolly
