Comments (35)I think that looks great ... but now that you have drawers, have you read the threads about 3-drawer and 4-drawer stacks? I think you will find it very useful to change at least one of those stacks to a 4-drawer one. Don't worry about the symmetry, because it will never be noticed below the counter line, due to the island blocking the view. I would change the stack to the right of the range. It will give you 4 smaller drawers to store most of the kitchen utensils used for cooking. I have that in my old (and new) kitchen and keep all the cooking spoons, spatulas, corkscrews, wine openers, graters, measuring spoons, whisks, peelers, bbq tongs, chopsticks, skewers, etc -- you get the idea -- you can fit a lot of stuff in those 4-drawers....See MoreNeed kitchen colors help for new build
Comments (5)Stop right now and do not do black stainless . Just plain old stainless then you are not stuck getting all applliances from one maker since no one maker makes everything well. I aslo agree gray cabinets will be a huge mistake unless you really love gray everywhere . I find grays (which I love BTW) hard to work with they all have undertones and often do not play well together. IMO a white kitchen is timeless . Wall color is IMO the last thing along with backsplash to choose but builders want to paint the walls before they install flooring so I would just do a white the same color for the trim in a semi gloss for trim and matte for walls . Ideally the same color as the white cabinets that would make the rest of the choices so much easier....See MoreNew build flooring dilemma - LVP vs engineered hardwood
Comments (6)@John Creek do you have any installation photo of the Regretta? I'm actually thinking of intalling the Hallmark Leeward Regretta in our kitchen and then the Hallmark Organic 567 in Gunpowder in the rest of the house. The colors and look are almost identical (I have sample boards of each), although the texture is a little different since the Organic 567 has more scrapes and texture. But the Regretta being waterproof, seemed a better fit in our kitchen. The living room is a step down, so the transition is not a big deal in there, but we do have to other rooms (dining and office) that I would like to keep the Oragancic 567 as well, but it flows into the kitchen via a doorway, so I might just keep it all the Regretta, even though I love the look of the Orangic 567. The 567 will go up the stairs as well (off the dining room). I'd love to see photos of the Regretta in a real house. There are very few photos out there. Post some if you have any. Any info would be helpful. Thanks!...See MoreWhite kitchen open concept colors for new build.
Comments (5)I just did an all white kitchen, I used DE Swiss coffee for trim and cabinets, creamy beige quartzite counter and after weeks of searching found a cracked subway tile that matched my cabinetry. First make sure the quartz is the same white as your cabinetry, ( you don't want one brighter (dirty) that the other....then find a subway tile that matches your cabinets (hard to do, lots of whites) . I choose the wall color based on my samples of the counter top and cabinetry. good luck...See Morejhmarie
