Comments (4)myplant, you do realize that for the most part these are dormant in the north? They will lose all their leaves and only have stems left for most of the winter. The root is like a bunch of carrots, storing nutrients to make new leaves in the spring. Place it in a spot where you can watch it and allow it to go almost completely dry for the winter. Water it only after the dirt is dry for a week or more. Long about late Feb, you should see green sprouts starting on the stems. At this time, prune it hard, place it in good sun, and water it. After this, never allow it to go dry until next fall. The plant needs a rest so that it can come back in better shape next growing season. Might be advice for you too. Comments (2)Hi! I see no has answered you yet and you are eager to plant something before it rains (?). First, please remember to do a rain dance before planting anything. I honestly believe it does not matter which end goes down. The plant can sense which way the roots should go and which way the leaves should grow. Liatris has a corm, not a bulb, right? If you see anything that looks like tiny roots, that end can ge down, or you can put them sideways to get them half-way there. In any case, they'll grow faster in the ground than in a bag, no matter which way you plant them. Say, is NY in the Mid-Atlantic? I just noticed after assuming you were near me. My liatris have poked up out of the ground already....See MoreWhat do I do if I cant trust my husband???? Help Me Please!!
Comments (15)WOW All we got here is a lot of neuroses popping out in all directions ... someone who was cheated on is SURE that the behavior means cheating, someone who was not cheated on thinks it means nothing ... and we have no real substantive data to make an evaluation on, so we all go off half-cocked based on our own positive or negative neurotic interpretations of her situation. None of that helps ... So what to do ? Well first of all concentrate on your own mental health and happiness and stability OUTSIDE of fixations with him. Reward yourself a couple times a day in some small constructive way for good things you do. Reward him in some small ways with a "thank you" when he does something good for you ... "Catch him doing something good" make the most of things and be as positive as you can be. If there is a real and substntive problem, it will eventually be fully revealed, if not, worrying and crying and getting upset will not help ... but just create a problem for you and him both. Make yourself happy and healthy. Dont hold your life hostage to his....See MoreRelated Professionals
