Pendant or sconce for foyer..

So I was originally going to hang swing arm wall sconces on either side of my stairs as these are the two largest walls I have for art. I thought they would look great and it would bring a bit of symmetry to the space. I had my electricians go ahead and wire for both a sconce and a pendant as I had this lantern from the old space. I knew both the lantern and sconce wouldn’t fit and would look too busy, so I figured I’d put a cap on the junction box in the ceiling and just use the sconce.

Now they’ve hung the pendant and I like it more than I thought I would. I love what I originally had planned and think it would’ve been a nice way to mirror the swing arm I’ll have to the left of the stairs. But I also think it’s nice to have a pendant that defines the foyer space as its own - which is nice because it’s such an open space and I appreciate whatever architectural detail I can get to further define “rooms.”

Here’s a picture of the lantern they hung along with a picture showing how I planned to have two sconces.
