My dh accidentally left the hose on my 3ft lilac, for 2 days.

He couldn't find the hose's nozzle in our grass, so he crimped the hose temporarily, with a small brick, and then later on forgot about it, because we had a small disaster in our house. Our ancient water heater died, and at that exact moment the dying heating element knocked the power out of our daughter's bedroom. We had to wait for the electrician, and then drain the water heater which took forever, and then buy our first water heater which was not fun. Those things are expensive. Dh hooked the water heater up all by himself after watching Youtube videos and he saved us a $600 plumbing bill.

So, during all that rif-raf, the forgotten hose had somehow un-crimped itself, and the water was coming at the lilac at full force. Our poor water pump! lol My poor lilac! I have to say though the plant looks no worse for wear, and our soil didn't even look flooded.

My question is should I apply a little Quick Start fertilizer to the soil, around the lilac, to replace the lost nitrogen?
