Design Dilemma Exterior Remodeling

Suggestions for which color vinyl siding with this brick

I'm leaning towards adding either 1)charcoal grey or 2)granite grey vinyl siding to this house. I'm just not sure how I feel about these combinations with the brick I have. I appreciate any feedback and advice!

*Siding is most likely 5'' dutch lap from mainstreet/certainteed

I think a slate blue sideing and white shutters would look nice with the brick.

I think charcoal gray wouldn't be as striking against the brick as a warmer gray/taupe would. Something like Sherwin-Williams' Elephant Ear, perhaps?

You could even go dramatic and add dark trim!

And then maybe a cheeky door color.

I wouldn't touch the siding if it's in good shape. The color works well with the house. If you are open to suggestions, rather than put the $$ into the siding, I would do something with the deck instead. The posts look insubstantial for the deck above so beefing them up would be a possibility, and you might consider changing the railing too. Incorporating the posts into the landscaping more could also work...I planted vines on mine to make them less prominent.

I assume the windows are next on your list. I would try to get the new siding to match the brick color. The windows aren't right for shutters.

Vinyl siding is low maintenance, so we have resisted painting ours. I recently scheduled a virtual consultation with Sherwin-Williams (https://homeowner.sherwin-williams.com/colorconsult/) to help me work with the color of the vinyl siding and pick out accent colors for our front door and railing and garage door pergola and to get advice about painting or not painting the trim around the windows. The designer was awesome and spot on for making recommendations, sending color choice options, explaining her choices, etc.. I would give them a try first and see what they say about working with the present color of the vinyl siding. Hope it helps and saves you future maintenance.

I would look a gray/ green and please no shutters on those windows, garage door same as siding then get to work on landscaping.

Definitely do away with the shutters. Grays, taupes, gray/greens would all go. The taupe would probably tone down the brick a little more. If you leave the trim white you'll get a more traditional look and if you go dark with the trim it will give you a more modern look. If you're keeping the pediment over the front door then I would probably stay light with the trim.
