pondgardener - or anyone else who likes large goldfish
Comments (2)Marj, I live in Pueblo, so there is a far amount of distance between us. I started out with a couple of goldfish to test the koi pond and it didn't take long before there were hundreds. It took me the better part of a week using a net to remove all the fry out of the large pond and move them into the smaller goldfish pond. A hailstorm thinned out their ranks considerably but I still have well over a 100 that have grown to at least the size you have. And your fish may feel a little crowded in the setup I have, I would prefer to have just a dozen or so but I wouldn't know what to do with the rest. Somehow they have survived about ten winters with the water circulating and covered with a tarp to minimize the pond from freezing solid. One of these days I expect to find the pump broke and I have a big block of ice in the ground. I do hope you find a good home for your fish....See MoreDoes anyone else have a problem with the 'like' emblem? Glitches?
Comments (16)Mike, you mentioned that you could post more than one photo, I've never seen that option or a way to grab several of them. I've only been able to insert one photo at a time, although I've been using the House Photo button (and then dragging my pic into the box) because in the past the Photo button didn't work so I got used to using the alternate way. Just a gripe, I get notifications to my phone, which I did allow thinking it would be for when people comment or like threads, but Houzz has added in their own notifications of sales or design stuff. Ugg, so annoying. -Nancy...See MoreExhaustion after build? Anyone else feel like that too?
Comments (17)I'm ready to move in. I started moving my kid's toys into their closets. My parents are bringing down furniture for my kid's rooms which are for the most part done. I'm to the point where I'm exhausted. I have had to do more than I thought I would have to do. I thought if you spent this much money you wouldn't have to touch up trim/wall paint, you wouldn't have to clean so much! I thought the new house would be move in ready. But with a rural custom home???? I just don't know why it has taken a year and we don't even have septic yet! No one told me I should have ordered custom cabinets when framing started. And so many stupid mistakes like I when I signed off on my super expensive front door... the interior trim between the sidelights was painted white but I have stained trim? I didn't even think to look at this detail closely because I told them my doors would have stained trim. So guess who is sanding off the white paint and staining it? ME! Made a mistake on where I wanted a light fixture so instead of paying extra to have it swapped I'm doing it! I guess I'm just not cut out for this home building stuff because I make too many mistakes. And the dust; there is no end to the dust or the mud for a matter of fact, when will it go away, I've cleaned a million times. I'm just ready to move in. We have managed to stay within the normal 10% overage but it has been a chore. :)...See MoreHas anyone else received an emergency alert like this?
Comments (27)I play it safe by wearing a mask, but I am not really that worried. I know the Covid positive tests counts are up, but the reports are not transparent. I know for a fact, in two people I know, one individual was counted twice and the other individual has been counted as three positive counts. So, those are two individuals, counted FIVE times! If I know of two individuals personally counted five times, it is happening all over. Also, one of the individuals I'm talking about, who was asymptomatic, had her boyfriend test also, he tested negative. If asymptomatic people were so contagious, there is no way he couldn't have gotten it. What I am hearing, is asymptomatic isn't as contagious, or even contagious at all. Still a lot of unknowns, but I truly believe it has been blown out of proportion. I do STILL believe, the older compromised and ALL (any age) people with comorbidities, should be very careful. So, they should be counting positive INDIVIDUALS, instead of each positive test, to get a true count. But, they are not. eta: I have had my family taking a multivitamin, vitamin D and melatonin for about 4 months now, to keep our immune systems up. My son doesn't take melatonin, since younger adults still have plenty in their immune system....See Moreseil zone 6b MI
