Entry Way Decor Suggestions

This is during reno, dont have updated pictures. This is the entry to our apartment, we have placed a custom closet on the left of our entryway, which has a place to put "stuff" on it... and on the right where the arrow is pointing we wanted to put a console table, but now i am thinking since we have those shelves on the left, will the console table look good? or should we place a pretty bench with a big round mirror? opinions please!

Thank you for the quick response. From the left wall to the right the entry width is 4 ft, and the right wall from the entrance to where the light switch is 13.5 ft.

Yes, I did read the same thing after your last post. So that particular mirror may be slightly off in width if my math is correct. Good thing about the quatrefoil mirrors, if that is what you chose, you can most likely find another that is wider. I would take some newspaper or something else and cut out a paper version of the mirror in those same measurments. Tape it up with some painter's tape in the space to help you visualize.

Looks good as is. Measure carefully before deciding. Depending upon the pattern, wallpaper could end up just making a calm space just look "busy" without adding interest to the space. IMO remove the mirror and replace with a piece of art. Mirrors work best where they reflect something worth seeing twice and the side of a fridge is not it . Can we see the space from further back ? Is this a family entry or for guests ? BTW I will not go shopping for you that is your job.This looks to be a bit country the chandelier not so much so I really need to see more of your home.

Sometimes it's good to see what others have done. What's with the Spanish candelier? It's a split level and it's naturally contemporary in style. Adding texture to the wall with batten strips could be interesting. Adding a wainscoting could cut the height of the walls visually A shelf and mirror or hooks and bench like you see below is an option also. I don't think the walls should remain simply white.

So you are looking to put something on the wall that is 13.5? I would only hang artwork or a mirror, nothing that would obstruct the entry to the living space. It might be nice to have a seat or small bench on the adjacent 4 ft wall for people to put on or take off shoes.

ohh i see what you are saying. The bench on the 13.5 ft wall would be in the way of the entrance i get it. So if i put the bench on the 7 ft wall should i put a mirror or just the bench? also, what kind of art work would you do on the 13.5 wall? i love modern/contemporary pieces but also open to other suggestions :) thank you so much :)

The 7 ft wall would be better... though in my opinion that still closes in that space. Consider you will be greeting guests in that area , a bench would narrow that space to less than 3 ft wide, which might feel claustrophobic and Detract from leading the guest into the space.

in that case i dont even know where to place the bench at. We definitely need something to sit on when putting/taking shoes off...

what about moving it to the adjacent 4 foot wall. That way it’s not blocking the flow and could also be brought into the room as additional seating when needed.

OK that makes sense. Then I agree with groveaxles placement but would make it as narrow as possible. Or depending on your room arrangement could a swivel chair be utilized as part of your seating area, that could swing around to face the closet...so serve the function of both Conversation seating and place to put on shoes?

have to say I really like the closets you added.
