What size dining room table should I get? 152" x 149" dining room
Comments (5)After calculating what was written above me, it looks like you can fit the same size table I have in my dining room, which is 42" wide by 78" long with the leaf in. We can fit up to 8 people at our table with the leaf in. I also love having a rectangle table! I have two openings in my dining room - one to the living room and the other to the kitchen. I have a door on the other wall and a window on the 4th. Just place your table in the middle of the room and it will work....See MoreHanging dining room chandelier in a 2 story dining room
Comments (9)Hi Julie, We agree with Patricia on this one. A larger light fixture may be a better idea for this space. On that note, perhaps these light fixtures from our sister brand Luxe Light and Home may work: Le Marais (this is a custom 3-tier) Fiammi Lucia (This is a custom 'vertical' version of the fixture) These Luxe fixtures are sold exclusively through the Kravet showrooms so we highly encourage you to visit one near you so you can see the quality and workmanship yourself. We hope this information will help you make a more informed decision on your home needs. Comments (25)If a small table is good for everyday, there are workarounds for occasional family get-togethers. Reading Sarah Susanka's books may give you some ideas for having your spaces live large. For example, she suggests 2 smallish tables that are the same height, that can be put together for occasional larger dining needs. For large meals we split people up between the kitchen and dining room tables, and the rule is that mid-meal you shuffle places so you have different dining companions for dessert. For holiday meals my MIL used to put tables end-to-end that covered the full length of living-dining room, such that the people on the far side needed to crawl under the table to get there. Obviously that was for the younger more nimble people. The kids loved it and still talk fondly about diving under the table. If your need is for a more elegant dining experience for couples, that obviously won't work LOL....See Morekitchen island dilemma continued
Comments (9)About two years before I renovated our current kitchen I was told my kitchen didn’t have room for an island. I decided to use a square table that was at least 3 feet square in my kitchen for a bit to see how it worked. I loved the extra work space it gave me so when we finally did the kitchen I opted for a small island. It has been great. I’m now in the process of renovating our last, age in place, home and I will have a good bit more aisle space. I find myself wishing I could recreate this kitchen. I don’t think it’s necessarily a great look but it doesn’t hurt to have more work room. It can be as permanent or temporary as you wish because any of the tables are easily moved back to it’s original place in your home....See MoreRelated Professionals
