Tour is cancelled! Tour guide went to check out the garden and said they are roofing the dome and there will be too much noise to have a tour. Asked us to reschedule some time in the fall.

I talked to the guide and she is checking with the park service staff as to when we can schedule again. I will let you know when I have a new date.

I'd love to go, but working on Friday. I'd be up for a Sunday if they do any tours on Sundays.

Noted. I may not get any takers for Fri. Last time I got no takers for Sun. I'll let you know if it changes to Sun. I just put in a request to see if the tour guides can do Sun.

The tour guide can do Sun. So if anyone is interested in 9 a.m. on Sun. Sept 23rd let me know. The tour will last a max of an hour.

I'd be interested in going, but on a different weekend - 9/30, or 10/6 or 10/7.

Right now were set for this Sun. They needed a minimum of 3-5 and there are 4. They can take up to 15 so hopefully we can get a few more.

It was a little disappointing. The tour guide was very nice but was a newly minted master gardener and wasn't very familiar with the plants. Also there wasn't much of a tour to the tour. We just walked around and looked at the plants and asked questions. He was the 4th tour guide assigned to the group so likely had no prep time. The first lady I talked to apparently was the head master gardener and guru so likely would have been more interesting if we had gotten her.

Definitely enjoyable. There are alot of walking trails around the lakes and along the Platt River in that park. In fact the Botanical Gardens has an event there today. A Midsummer Night's Dream at Riverdale Regional Park. It is free and you can sign up through the Denver Botanical Garden's web site.

I don't know if anyone would have been interested in the Shakespeare in the parking lot performance but it was FANTASTIC! The actors were from Denver Center of Performing Arts and very professional. The set was a pickup truck. The costumes were fun and centered around a car/truck theme. The sound system was excellent and chairs were provided.

But sadly it was mostly empty. Only about 20 people showed and they had about 60 chairs. There were about 5 botanical gardens volunteers with plants and explanations of how they related to Shakespeare. I turned my phone off at the beginning otherwise would have gotten some great pictures of the actors in action. It was action packed and hilarious. This was a photo I snapped as we left. I was really surprised at the low turn out. If I ever see one of these advertised again I will put a notice here as it is a free performance.

I think it was the first Shakespeare in The Parking Lot performance. I hope they do some more.

mmmm12, yes I am interested in more. I always try to take my kids to Shakespeare anywhere I can find it that is not downtown. We went to a good one at Arvada Center a couple of years ago as well. If you see any more, let me know!

I will let you know if I see this offered again. I think I could have signed any number of people up for it. Also I kind of felt bad because out of the 20 spectators some knew the actors so there were really very few actual spectators and it was so well done with so many resources behind the production that it was a shame more people didn't get to enjoy it.
