Long narrow living room help

Hi Houzers
I would love your help with my narrow living room. My home is a 1920’s brick colonial. The fireplace is centered on the home which makes the living room segmented into two spaces. I’m open to all suggestions including new furniture ideas, window treatments, paint, etc. We tend to like rustic and the farmhouse feel without overdoing it. Love mixing wood and materials. I lean towards more cool colors. I love built-ins. We already have a nice library wall in another room.

Here are the details
Size: 17’-10” x 11’-1” and the fireplace is 2’ deep
Trying a gallery wall at the end of the room. Will be adding to it soon but maybe this becomes some sort of built-in? Ideas welcomed.
The high top table is there to break up the space and give us more seating since we can only seat 6 in our dining room. This doesn’t need to stay though.
There is little light in the room since there is no ceiling lighting and the curtains are heavy and thick.
Large opening between dining room and living room.
Any ideas for the niche next to the fireplace?

Thanks for your help!
