Thanks for the comments. goluscombe - You are right - it is something else for sure. Not really this, and not really that. It is a fully custom home in every respect, for better or worse, but it does have some Mediterranean influence I think - but it is surely modern/contemporary. Inside it is clean lines and similar to an art gallery with very large rooms and large walls suited for big pieces of art. Perhaps I should have titled my post differently but I didn't know what to say. We don't want to try and replicate the traditional Spanish style with red tiled roof look as that is not this house and it does have a dimensional asphalt shingle roof in a pewter color. To be fair, I really don't know what we are after but we do want a light color that will go with the dark bronze of the windows and look fresher and more up to date. The existing color is dull and just too "brown" for us. It looks dated and tired to us.

Before I worried about the paint color, I would want to know your entire renovation plan and budget. There is a lot you could do with that house. The siding needs to be removed and the house needs to be stuccoed That fireplace could be rocked along with the two pillars in the driveway. But in terms of color, there are four color schemes that I've seen work well with that color of tile roof. 1) Yes, you could go cream color and accent with the dark stained wood color. 2) Or you could do two tones of stucco .... one a beige that has pink in it and the other a light cream color. 3) Or you could do a light pink and accent with cream. 4) Or a lighter green works well with a Spanish tile roof in that lighter pink-ish hue. Just make sure that whatever color you choose that it has pink as its undertone.

You have a lovely house ..white stucco with some charcoal grey with blue undertones for some trim areas and garage door would be very refreshing in a sea of beige to taupe track homes, a kind of California modern look. Changing the look of the garage door to either match your pergola color or a trim color will go a long way to update , giving you great curb appeal. The red tile roof gives you some thing to run with for bumping up the style. I would add some Saltillo tile for the porch and walkway to repeat that roof color , some new lighting that's larger in scale and some more structural plantings such as blue agave.
