It's the least of your surfaces, if you're going to do a tiled backsplash. :-) But take a look at Sherwin Williams 'Rainwashed' and Ben Moore's 'Palladian Blue'. Uppers: Scherr's makes simple shaker doors in walnut that can be toned to suit: Lowers: And this Sherr's door in a rift-cut white oak, which gives you some nice movement (either horizontal or vertical) and the richer golden tone that plays off the blue: Tile: Walker Zanger's linear glass mosaic: Is there some reason you can't do a thick concrete counter like the one in the photo? They're not insanely expensive, or you can even DIY it.

Our last home was built in 1953 and the master bath was floor to ceiling Calacatta Gold marble slabs. While it wasn't actually my "style" we own a tile and stone business and knew it was quite special to have. We worked around it. Even the shower was marble slabs. We lived in that home for 12 years while our kids were still in the nest. I found it very easy to maintain. We of course used good ventilation and squeegeed the shower walls after use and only used Ph neutral cleaners once every few weeks on the shower. The rest of the room and the tub surround? Wiped it down with a damp cloth once a year! It's a classic. No etching or stains on the walls. They looked brand new after 60 years and multiple owners. Now the original countertops were a mess so we replaced those with leathered black granite. This was a high end home and it sold quickly. Buyers also had no intention of tearing that marble out.

I am currently painting my bathroom vanity and medicine cabinet juniper berries by behr, spending all this time spent in the bathroom disassembling and reassembling things has opened my eyes to all the other things I hate in this tiny 4x8 jack & jill bathroom, the walls are poorly done textured, slightly warm white and the doors are a slightly brighter white but they didn’t stay in the lines when painting the door. I’d love to tile the walls but it’s not in the budget right now so I need some color ideas for the walls and or doors. My biggest gripe is how dirty the walls and doors get instantly and how hard they are to clean. I love color but this is such a small bathroom I’m afraid to go too bold
