Powder room mirror and lighting size/position question
Comments (3)I have a 38" wide powder room. Either mirror width is fine, but I'd go with the 30" height when using an overhead light. Mine is 19" x 26" and I can see from the waist up. I think a three light will provide more light than you need in a powder room. I have one with 75 watt bulbs over a 36" vanity in my guest bath as my only light. You might just need a lower wattage bulb. The double lights look odd to me, so I'd look at the bath bar style of lighting if your mirror is a rectangle. Comments (1)I don't think you'll have enough room for lights on the sides of the mirror, you'll end up with a really small mirror. They do make some that have lights right the face of the mirror, but they are usually pretty pricey. You may just have to go with a fixture that goes over the mirror. They've come a long way from the old light strips....See MoreIdeas for lighting above vanity mirror that are too high?
Comments (9)This is the OLD vanity & mirrors- I don't have a pic of the new cabinets BUT the new vanity is standard height, (same as in pic) as you can see the mirror is even taller than the vanity- so maybe 48" tall mirror in pic? The new vanity has towers on either end, sinks moved closer together, but lighting still at same height. There will be new, individual mirrors over each sink...See Moreneed new vanity lights and mirrors-HELP
Comments (3)Some options: This is a simple mirror "framed" with wood painted to blend into the wall. Any glass company can cut mirror to any size. That would accommodate the differing sizes you need. Then you can "frame" it with wood trim or leave it unframed. Here's one that has no frame, simply a sheet of mirror installed on the wall. I think that would work best for your application since you have two different sizes. This one has lights mounted over it like yours would. This one has the same treatment but not covering as much wall You said you wanted it to pop. If both the mirror and the light pop, then that's too much. I'd go with a plain mirror and get lighting that pops. The style of lighting would depend on what you like....See MoreSandy K
