Wine/Beverage Refrigerators
Comments (2)Last time I looked and ordered, Perlick made cooler / refrigerator models available with three different temperature ranges. I have a "wine reserve" unit that I keep at a 55F setting that has wine bottle racks. I use this for red wine. I also have a "refrigerator" unit (with one shelf replaced with a wine rack) that I keep at a 39F setting. I use this for beer, white wine, and miscellany such as film, flan, and handy yogurt. This unit I monitor with a digital thermometer tracking the interior air temperature (not the temperature of the liquid containing bottles) -- originally as a means of detecting if the door was ajar. The reported air temperature cycles between 39F and 44F. (Differential error is low; offset error is within +/- 1F.) My SubZero kitchen refrigerator is set at 39F; I believe this is recommended by the User Manual. While cream is rarely kept for any length of time, no other milk products have been seen to be adversely affected at these temperatures. There is a difference in maintenance rate required for a Perlick taking air from the floor level and a SubZero taking air from 7 feet off of the floor. The Perlicks need condenser vacuuming more often. I usually (carefully) use compressed air for the inaccessible parts I can't reach with a vacuum. This can be messy without constraining dust outflow....See MoreWine Refrigerator

Comments (1)Hi everyone. We are looking to replace our existing refrigerator. I am looking for something that will perform at a higher level, but am limited by the existing cutout size. When I say performance, I mean cooling/freezing, preserving fresh foods, limiting freezer burn. I am not interested in internet connectivity, screens, apps, etc. we also aren’t in a position to modify cabinetry or do a built in model. The cutout size we are working with is 67.5” tall( not counting top hinge which will be outside of cabinet limitation) and 36” wide. Can handle either counter or standard depth. The height limitation is the real issue. If I had the space, I would select a new Bosch 800 model with dual compressors and evaporators. The only model that seems to work is fisher paykel rf170adx4n. It has dual evaporators which would be an improvement over existing model but there do not appear to be many reviews available for this model. Does anyone have this model? Are there other options I should consider? Thanks!...See Morelooking for 15 inch built in wine fridge any recommendations
Comments (2)We had a 15" ULine beverage fridge installed in our previous house and it worked well for 10 years, when we sold the house. The only reason we went with 15" was because the previous owners had an ice maker in that spot that we weren't interested in keeping. We are building and this time around we went with a 24", but chose SZ since I wanted it paneled. I would recommend you go to a 24" if you have the space....See MoreSabrina Alfin Interiors
