How many trees do you have?
Comments (53)Lol...you are all too funny....Trust me when I tell you, the most painful part of bringing them is when you have to cut them back..ARG...It's a lot easier to keep them tidy and bug free when you cut them back. Too, if you have too much growth on top and not enough sunlight, then they will tend to throw off leaves and branches to compensate for weak roots..Not to fear.. Think ahead of time how at what temps you will store them all, how you can take preventatives measures to avoid pests, how much light you will need to keep them happy, and which ones you know will take the least amount of sunlight to get through winter..Just helping you all think ahead of time while you all continue this citrus fever.. Most people have lots of rooms, but not every tree gets the sunniest spot in the room)...See MorePlease start sharing your August citrus picture starting 8-1-19
Comments (38)Kelley,, have you been on a trip to Italy yet and check out the open markets there? You could come back with credible information. I might add one that produces year around. I run out out of proper rootstock for one. I am at limit with others citrus, like to give away a few. Btw,, photos on Houzz, you could “resize” before you insert a picture, I do, just to 860x600 pixels, I load pictures to my desktop first, not directly from my cell. Good to hear from you, nice collection you have btw, interesting what your collection looks like soon. my close neighbor is leaving for Italy this Friday, don’t have the nerf to ask her to bring back any seeds, I also has a niece living in Holland that flies to the Mediterranean all the time. Problem, seeds take to many years to produce....See MoreGrafting New Zealand lemonade to Seville sour orange 9-1-2020
Comments (20)Re: Nutcracker. If you’re in the US, our low Canadian dollar works in your favour. But yes, when I see the prices for citrus in the US, they are cheaper. I have not come across any that will ship to Canada to an individual. I paid $35 ($26.00 US) for next day shipping across province of a 2-3 foot grapefruit tree. It is to arrive today. I figured I would give myself to a new houseplant challenge. No doubt, I’ll be yanking my hair out in a few months! Haha....See Morehow's everyone's trees doing?
Comments (35)This week we have what we call an indian summer, our temps have hone up in the 70's for a few days in a row without frost. i took my babies outside again. then I'll start alternating between outside day and garage night. after that i'll have to gradually bring it indoors in the day and garage at night as to not shock them. its been interesting this year. I really don't want the new growth emerging on my valencia to be weirdly shaped so it really does need the full sun outside. The warm days have been a blessing. I'll have to post the before and after pictures of the valencia, it had 3 seperate good flushes of leaves this year and probably tripled in volume + it had 3 good sise fruits on it....See Moreponcirusguy6b452xx
