Want to help me pick backsplash tile?
Comments (3)I had a similar dilemma. I was going to just use the silestone as a backsplash - but DH did not like that idea - he thought it was too blah and didn't like the thickness of it. Second option was to use the accent tile from shower surround but neither of us liked that tile on it's own with the vanity top - it is a little busy. I ended up choosing a 4 inch glass tile that picked up on other tile colors. I can't tell you how it turned out because we are still in the middle of the remodel, but I think it will work for me....See MoreWould you like to help me pick a backsplash?
Comments (12)Stephanielynn, All your choices look good and would be fine. I think you need a little more contrast, however. Your granite has so much life and motion that I'm assuming you want that kind of active, bright look. The matching colors you've chosen are going to tone it down rather than set it off. If you chose it because you like the colors, but don't really like how much movement there is in it, then one of the grays will make it look sharp. If you want it to blend more with the other finishes, especially the floor, the tan works. I like the tiles, but to set off the granite, they should be darker or lighter. I'd do a lighter color, and with only a hint of the gray or tan (or both), if any. Finding just the right thing is a bear, I agree, but as so many have told you before, you'll know it when you see it. I don't know if it'll work in your situation, but if you don't want a contrast backsplash you might consider using the stone....See MoreHelp me pick my backsplash and floor super white kitchen
Comments (75)I think you made very nice choices in the end. I like the backsplash you picked, because as others posted about the glass.... it brings down the quality of the kitchen..... The flooring...I think it will work out fine. We are having the same problem. I actually like the wider plank but either would work. I do like the color you choose and it was my first choice....then it would have been a brown picked up in your original flooring. I hope you post pics when you are finished! Oh just as an afterthought....did anyone suggest you do the backsplash in the same countertop granite? That might have worked also, but it's a different look and maybe an outdated look also?....I think you chose a good product...bet it's gorgeous! Best wishes on it's completion!!!...See MoreHelp me pick a backsplash!
Comments (17)Had to step away from the computer in mid-post (renovation going on even as I type), and you got a lot of great responses I hadn't seen when I completed my post! All the options Boxerpups posted look great to me, sort of what I had in mind. You could go with the brick pattern tile (like in the 2nd option you listed) or all square, either one. I think we often get caught up in the design process, wanting everything to "pop", when really we need to step back & let some of the design be plainer & highlight other aspects. I am still having to convince my husband we need a plainer backsplash to offset the very busy granite we both like! However, neither of us likes completely plain, solid-color subway tile backsplash.......See MoreNewhome2018
