Need suggestions for faucets for bathroom sinks
Comments (9)No experience with Danze, I read these forums and along with 28 others daily. Im retired and disabled and enjoy reading, learning and helping folks on the DIY type forums. Thus I have read the same thing as you regarding Danze and this is why I tempered my comments with the "you get what you pay for" adage. But in the end Danze has appeared to be very successful in the American market by offering that high style at a reasonable price and that doesnt happen if their products are all bad. My experience level on faucets is now with Grohe both kitchen and bath and I feel that they are well worth the extra dollars if you indeed intend to stay in your home for a long time. From your original posting you felt that the Geneva sink faucets were $500+ and just by surfing around some of rhe internet sites I found them for at least $100 less. So maybe the best bet is to stick to your original choice but shop for the best deal. Its a very competitive marketplace out there. Good luck and enjoy your new home Terry...See MoreYuk! Comments (11)I would call my water supplier if you have municipal water. For a few weeks I was detecting an odor coming from my faucets. I called the water company. Two men came out and took various samples. It turned out that I had very high chlorine content. They also took samples from my taps that had filters and those had much lower levels of chlorine. They explained how that happened, it was very interesting to learn what was going on at the water co. If you have private well water you're probably on your own, but if it's public you should probably call them to see if they'll inspect your water and/or test it. If many more people are having this problem and calling in to them it might tell them something....See MoreNeed help with metal choice for bathroom. Brass, Matte Black, Chrome?
Comments (4)Jane, thank you for the input. I should have posed my question a bit clearer. I need help with metal for lighting, faucets, etc. I'm looking for suggestions for the entire (overall) look of the bathroom. At first I was going with polished nickel, but the faucet I want to use (Delta/trinsic) does not come in polished nickel. The light fixtures I Iike only come in polished nickel and not chrome. It's just so frustrating. I thought I could do mixed metals, but unsure of that too. I read a number of folks say don't mix polished nickel and chrome. I was thinking matte black, but nervous. My husband won't go for brass (after posing my above question), though I agree, it would be interesting. Thank you again, and if you have any other thoughts, I'd greatly appreciate them. The double vanity is 80" (white), there will be a free standing tub (white), with separate shower in white subway tiles, the quartz counter tops are a medium gray, dark slate floors, and lastly white walls. It's so hard for me to use my imagination and picture different metals in the space....See MoreBathroom fixtures with matte black hardware?
Comments (4)Hi Angie, I'm in the same boat as yourself. Have a new build and decided on black cabinet hardware and black door knobs. But I am unsure about the bathroom faucets (we have the option of Nickel, Chrome or Matte Black). I was leaning towards the black faucets everywhere but did not want it to look too black and white. Can i ask what did you end up deciding? If you have pictures, i would love to see....See Morestefaniebogles
