Do you have chrome and brushed nickel in your bathroom?
Comments (13)We aren't doing a full remodel so the tub and shower plumbing isn't being changed. That is chrome. I love the shower head and afraid new ones wouldn't provide as good a shower. Lighting is already purchased and that is brushed nickel. The sink faucet, accessories, and vanity hardware will be replaced. Also a quartz top (Viatera Minuet or similar) and new sink. I thought chrome for faucets is a more durable finish. So right now if I go brushed nickel with everything new, the tub shower will still be chrome. The other thought was just plumbing in chrome and all else brushed nickel. Those are the 2 options I am thinking but open to more ideas and feedback on these. Thanks....See MorePolished or brushed nickel??? (cross posted in Bathrooms)
Comments (9)We did our faucets in chrome except for the cabinet latches, which weren't available in chrome so the cabinet guy substituted polished nickel. I think PN is gorgeous and I was tempted to go for it for all our fixtures but I am so glad I didn't...those stupid cabinet knobs tarnish if you so much as look at them the wrong way. I had to ask my husband to please be careful to only open them with clean dry hands (kind of annoying in a bathroom when you are applying makeup, lotion, etc.) I have heard there is a type of polish I can get to clean them up (brasstech is the name, I think) but I haven't ordered it yet. I need to do it though. If I had to do it over again, I would change the knob style before going with polished nickel -- I can see that they are going to be a serious maintenance headache over the years....See MoreNeed help with metal choice for bathroom. Brass, Matte Black, Chrome?
Comments (4)Jane, thank you for the input. I should have posed my question a bit clearer. I need help with metal for lighting, faucets, etc. I'm looking for suggestions for the entire (overall) look of the bathroom. At first I was going with polished nickel, but the faucet I want to use (Delta/trinsic) does not come in polished nickel. The light fixtures I Iike only come in polished nickel and not chrome. It's just so frustrating. I thought I could do mixed metals, but unsure of that too. I read a number of folks say don't mix polished nickel and chrome. I was thinking matte black, but nervous. My husband won't go for brass (after posing my above question), though I agree, it would be interesting. Thank you again, and if you have any other thoughts, I'd greatly appreciate them. The double vanity is 80" (white), there will be a free standing tub (white), with separate shower in white subway tiles, the quartz counter tops are a medium gray, dark slate floors, and lastly white walls. It's so hard for me to use my imagination and picture different metals in the space....See MoreBathroom sink faucets - Would you buy this?
Comments (22)Yes, that was my initial thought was it looked like a mini scale kitchen. I figured it’s a new look and I might get used to it and eventually like it. I don’t think I’ve seen them anywhere unless I’m just not paying enough attention. Tomorrow I will see them everywhere I go probably....See Morestefaniebogles
